Re: [Mono-dev] Mono Web Site

2014-08-16 Thread Timotheus Pokorra
Hello Miguel,

Thanks to the help of Alexander Koeplinger that worked with us for the last
couple of months, we have migrated the Mono website from MediaWiki to a
 static content manager on GitHub.
Well done!

I noticed on a german news article
(http://www.heise.de/developer/meldung/Mono-3-6-bringt-verbesserten-Profiler-2291264.html)
that it still linked to the old downloads page on go-mono.com:
http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html

I see that the root of go-mono.com redirects to mono-project.com.
I guess it would make sense to redirect the sub pages as well, to
avoid confusion.

Thanks again for the new website,
  Timotheus

go-mono.com has always hosted the downloads.

So this is fine.

That said, it looks like some CSS is missing.

Re: [Mono-dev] Mono Web Site

2014-08-16 Thread Timotheus Pokorra
Hello Miguel,

go-mono.com has always hosted the downloads.

 So this is fine.
What I meant was this:

When I go to http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html, I
see the 3.6 release, but the link for OpenSUSE leads to
http://download.mono-project.com/archive/3.2.3/linux/x64/

I think the new page at http://www.mono-project.com/download makes
much more sense, so I suggest a redirect from
http://www.go-mono.com/mono-downloads/download.html to there.
Or does it make sense to maintain two pages with the same desired content?

After all, http://www.go-mono.com redirects to
http://www.mono-project.com/ anyway.

Thanks,
  Timotheus

[Mono-dev] Mono Web Site

2014-08-13 Thread Miguel de Icaza
Hello guys,

Thanks to the help of Alexander Koeplinger that worked with us for the last
couple of months, we have migrated the Mono website from MediaWiki to a
static content manager on GitHub.

Ideally, this means that we will be able to take pull requests for the web
site, and anyone with commit access to Mono can now update the web site.

When you commit, the pages are regenerated.

The web module is here:

https://github.com/mono/website

There are still a few details that we need to sort out here and there, but
we should be in much better shape.
