Re: [neonixie-l] My CRT Clock
Just take with the chance of implosion - the glass really can fly about. Watch out for diamond rings... I have been a long time lurker in this group. I've been building NIXIE clocks for quite a few years and am amazed at the level of engineering expertise in this group. I fall into more of the technician / hobbiest category of builders and work as an instrumentation technician for Air Force flight test. My clocks are built and modified from kits. I am a fan follower of David Forbes and appreciate his design and coding skills. I really loved his CRT clock in the Plexiglass tube and decided a few years ago to try my own hand at some CRT Clocks. My clocks are based on the AVR O-clock board that was offered by Sparkfun. (unfortunately no longer available) and the Ultra simple O-scope power supply and deflection amp circuit by Jon Stanley. I have attached some pictures of one of my clocks. I really enjoy following this group. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "neonixie-l" group. Re: [neonixie-l] Is this a coincidence or what?
Don’t you store your “Tiger Rags” in a “Dixie tube” ? I’m dissapointed. (Sorry I just couldn’t resist creating this pun) Dan From: Dekatron42 Sent: Friday, February 26, 2016 8:47 PM To: neonixie-l Subject: [neonixie-l] Is this a coincidence or what? Could this book have something to do with the naming of Nixies? https://www.etsy.com/listing/85929141/vintage-childrens-dog-book-the-four The title is: "Pixie, Dixie, Trixie, and Nixie" and it is written by Dorothy and Marguerite Bryan and supposedly published in 1950. Burroughs made a Pixie tube, a Trixie socket for the Pixie tube and also Nixies, however I haven't heard of a Dixie though. /Martin -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "neonixie-l" group.
