Re: [newbie] win98 freezes after 7.2 install
If u are pausing at your startup screen then yes Linux is the problem. Now thats if you changed the /mbr of the windows hdd. Thats why its pausing.Havent found a fix myself yet - Original Message - From: "angry" [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, February 10, 2001 12:14 PM Subject: Re: [newbie] win98 freezes after 7.2 install you don't need it anymore :) seriously tho, its two seperate systems i doubt it is causing any problems with win98 Craig Rowan wrote: I just installed mandrake 7.2 and now my windows 98 seems to pause for about 20 seconds at certain times. I'm not sure whether its mandrake or not, maybe its something to do with the boot loader. Anyone had the same problem. --
Re: [newbie] VIA KT133A ANd duron support
I have the KT133A chipset and a Anthlon 800 duron and I just did a regular install and all three hdd's where detected just fine. No additional steps where needed here. Amd Anthlon 800 (duron, which has thunderbird stepping) Tyan kt400 MB (kt133 chipset) 384 meg ram two WD hdd 45 gig ata/100 7200rpm one WD hdd 18 gig ata/66 5400rpm works just fine unless im too stupid to know its not working :) - Original Message - From: "Lanman" [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 08, 2001 9:32 AM Subject: Re: [newbie] VIA KT133A ANd duron support None that I know of, except for the ATA100 IDE Interface. You have to connect your hard drives to the ATA33/66 Interface first, do the install, then edit some files to support the ATA 100 interface, then shutdown, change connections then restart. That's how it's done with an Asus A7V. Mine rocks! Point of fact. The 7.2 installation will not recognize any onboard ATA100 controllers unless you pass the parms to the kernel and even then it may still hang during partition check.
