My e-machine is a test machine, I try of distros on it to see which one I
like before I install on my main computer. If memory serves, I had to go to
drakconig and find the sound card and let drak configure it. If your are
useing these cheezy little stock speakers you will have to raise the volume
very high to get any sound from it.

I use Mandrake 7.2 on my 400i, and the sound card works just fine, although

If I'm not mistaken, CS423x is already supported. I have a Crystal 4232 and
it works fine.
