Re: [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] look for LCSH MARC records
Thanks, Jane. Very likely I need it later. Tina Quoting Jane Sandberg: Very glad that it was helpful, Tina. One resource that I found helpful during our own start-fresh process was this presentation by Galen Charlton, Mary Jinglewski, and Chad Cluff: https://evergreen-ils.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/eg16-CatalogingForester_reduce.pptx Slide 41 has the command to get rid of all the authority records in your system, when you're ready for that piece. :-) -Jane On Thu, Nov 2, 2017 at 9:55 AM, Tina Ji wrote: Hi Jane, I want to say thank you so much! [OPEN-ILS-GENERAL] look for LCSH MARC records
Hello everyone, We've been exploring authority control and planning to apply it. We have an old version of LCSH (over 10 years). We hope to start with a newer version. I found only meta records on LOC website. Downloading from LOC seems infeasible, considering the amount. We also do not have the budget to engage an vendor to do it for us now. I wonder whether anyone knows where to find LCSH MARC records, or anyone may share with us. Any information will be appreciated.
