Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] What is the status of UEFI boot support?

2018-07-04 Thread Andrey Sokolov
When I boot in UEFI mode from usb flash drive with this image
(http://dlc.openindiana.org/isos/hipster/20180427/OI-hipster-gui-20180427.usb),
the system hangs after writing "Booting..."
https://pasteboard.co/HsWztUs.jpg
How can I determine the cause of the hang?

2018-07-04 Thread Michal Nowak
I believe it is as Alexander said: "illumos-gate currently lacks support
of UEFI vga console (so you are limited to serial console and X11".

So, if you want to boot in UEFI mode, enable "Enable ssh" mode which
skips language/keyboard dialog in VGA console and gets you straight to
X11: https://openqa.oi.mnowak.cz/tests/3359#step/bootloader_mate/3. Or
change the serial console and interact with the dialog from there. But
you are probably more lucky with BIOS/Legacy mode.
