Battery life of the zen stone

2007-06-12 Thread Allison Mervis
Hi all!
I don't feel as though I'm getting the full ten hours of battery life out of
my zen stone. I just got it on Thursday, and since initially chaarging it
after it's arrival, I've had to charge it two more times. I wonder whether
or not I'm doing something wrong when I turn it off. When turning off my
shuffle, I always paused playback and slid the switch to the off position.
With the zen stone, I simply hold down the play button until it appears to
power down. I don't pause playyback first. Could this keep it from shutting
down entirely, and therefore, be the cause of my rapidly draining battery?
Thanks!
Allison

Windows Media Player

Does Windows Media Player have a frame rate counter? I know it
displays the time counter for audio files but what about a frame
rate?

That was an older version. I had something similar happen to my laptop, but
luckily a system restore worked. They've since fixed the issue. I installed
it on the same laptop with no mishaps.

Ok, what version of sound Taxi was this. That was exactly the same problem
I had when I installed it on my Sony desktop and not even the system restore
saved my but because it also trashed something with my cdrom drives. That
was a long long time ago however and the Sound Taxi support people claim
they fixed that a couple of builds after the version I tried. Just curious
if your experience was before their fix or after. (grin)

I had an interesting problem with sound taxi platnum. When I installed it,
it took away both my sound cards. I had to get sighted help to do a system
restore. On an older motherboard, when I managed to run ST Platnum, I
noticed it installed a sound driver of it's own. But, on this new
motherboard I found it didn't seem to like my sound cards or something,
since it disabled both of them completely to the point that neither showed
when I brought up sounds and audio from the control pannel.

Re: Windows Media Player 10, Unavailable Functions

2007-06-12 Thread David Bailes
Hi,

the closest thing that WMP has for rewinding audio is
to use the seek slider. The keyboard navigation for
this is to press ctrl + tab once of twice to move to
the slider, then use left or right arrows to seek
backwards or forwards by one twentieth of the length
of the track.

David Bailes.

original message:

HI.

Would anyone know why my copy of Windows Media Player
10 consistently
indicates that both file markers and rewind are
unavailable? Fast forward
is available, and I can use RealPlayer's equivalent of
file markers, except
I've stopped using RealPlayer. Not only are these two
functions shown as
unavailable, I've tried them, only to confirm they
aren't.

Any idea how I can make them available?

Thanks.

Re: accessable software guitar effects processor

A guy on the midi-mag list uses "ampli-tube"??? but I've never used
it.
I do use a couple of hardware processors with USB interfaces and good
documentation and I like them both.
