[Pdns-users] pdns-recursor-3.3rc2 our root expired messages

2010-09-15 Thread Detlef Peeters

Hello,

today I notice in the logs following messages.

pdns_recursor[32068]: objects-test.deviantart.com.edgesuite.net.: our
root expired, repriming from hints and retrying
pdns_recursor[32068]: s.de.net.: our root expired, repriming from
hints and retrying

Installed is pdns-recursor-3.3rc2-1.x86_64.rpm on CentOS 5.5

Is there a problem, or what does this messages means.

regards,

Detlef

Hi Detlef,

Can you list the relevant parts of your configuration file? (ie, not
allow-from, local-address etc).

Does this happen immediately? Or after a day?

Bert

Indeed, I'm seeing it too:

Process was started _exactly_ a day before the messages appeared:

[Pdns-users] pdns_control rediscover

2010-09-15 Thread Max Clark
Hello,

I have a set of pdns slaves running with the bind backend. When adding
new zones to the configuration file we are running pdns_control
rediscover to reload the zones:

# pdns_control rediscover

Sep 15 00:37:27 ns01 pdns[38478]: [bindbackend] error at Wed Sep 15
00:37:27 2010 parsing 'foo.com' from file '/etc/namedb/slave/foo.com':
Unable to open file '/etc/namedb/slave/foo.com': No such file or
directory

Where rediscover fails, retrieve works fine:

# pdns_control retrieve foo.com

Sep 15 00:37:34 ns01 pdns[38478]: Domain foo.com is stale, master
serial 1, our serial 0
Sep 15 00:37:34 ns01 pdns[38478]: Initiating transfer of 'foo.com'
from remote 'x.x.x.x'
Sep 15 00:37:34 ns01 pdns[38478]: AXFR started for 'foo.com',
transaction started
Sep 15 00:37:34 ns01 pdns[38478]: Zone 'foo.com'
(/etc/namedb/slave/foo.com) reloaded
Sep 15 00:37:34 ns01 pdns[38478]: AXFR done for 'foo.com', zone committed

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Max
