[PHP-BUG] Req #54022 [NEW]: Add support for curl_easy_reset
From: Operating system: Mac OS X PHP version: 5.3.5 Package: cURL related Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description:Add support for curl_easy_reset Description: It's difficult to use the same curl handle for multiple requests to the same host and port when many unknown options could have been applied to the handle after its creation. Many of the curl_setopt options can be removed from a handle using some careful option setting, but some options cannot. Adding a curl_easy_reset method to the PHP bindings would allow PHP developers to more easily implement connection pooling and utilize keep-alive sessions over HTTP/1.1. curl_easy_reset has been available since version 7.12.1 (http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/curl_easy_reset.html): Re-initializes all options previously set on a specified CURL handle to the default values. This puts back the handle to the same state as it was in when it was just created with curl_easy_init(3). It does not change the following information kept in the handle: live connections, the Session ID cache, the DNS cache, the cookies and shares. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54022&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=trysnapshot52 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.3): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=trysnapshot53 Try a snapshot (trunk): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=trysnapshottrunk Fixed in SVN: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=fixed Fixed in SVN and need be documented: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=needdocs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=php4 Daylight Savings:http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=54022&r=mysqlcfg

Req #54019 [Opn]: synthesize class property setter/getter feature request
Edit report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54019&edit=1 ID: 54019 User updated by:monte at ohrt dot com Reported by:monte at ohrt dot com Summary:synthesize class property setter/getter feature request Status: Open Type: Feature/Change Request Package:Unknown/Other Function Operating System: n/a PHP Version:Irrelevant Block user comment: N Private report: N New Comment: This could also speed up the access to stub setters/getters (?), as manually created methods are much slower than direct property access. Previous Comments: [2011-02-14 18:40:38] monte at ohrt dot com Description: This is a take from the objective-c language, and may prove useful in future releases of PHP. Currently, to generate generic setters/getters for class properties, this must be done manually in the class declaration: class Foo { public $bar function bar() { return $this->bar; } function setBar($val) { $this->bar = $val; } } This can be a tedious task when there are many properties, and clutter up the class. Using the __call() magic function for manual pseudo-synthesized functions is a complexity and extra wrapper call that could be avoided. Feature request: the ability to have PHP automatically synthesize generic setters/getters for properties. You would specify which properties are synthesized. Syntax idea: class Foo { synthesize public $bar; // bar() and setBar() are now automatically synthesized by PHP } Manual overrides to these synthesized methods are permissible, in case a non- generic method is required. This feature would greatly simplify boiler-plate setter/getter setup, and avoid the overhead of using __call() as a wrapper to create a manual psuedo-synthesize functionality. PHP IDE's would be able to identify synthesized properties for auto-completion of available setter/getter methods. -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=54019&edit=1

Bug #53986 [Fbk->Opn]: Weird behavior upon reading .mo files

This script runned for the first time will translate ok. Changing the name of the file to messages_2 and the translation to "version_2" [and updating the php as necessary], will lead to keeping the old translation [although a new domain has been set] or translating the text only about 50% [with a small deviation]. Previous Comments: [2011-02-12 08:40:36] ka...@php.net Thank you for this bug report. To properly diagnose the problem, we need a short but complete example script to be able to reproduce this bug ourselves. A proper reproducing script starts with , is max. 10-20 lines long and does not require any external resources such as databases, etc. If the script requires a database to demonstrate the issue, please make sure it creates all necessary tables, stored procedures etc. Please avoid embedding huge scripts into the report. [2011-02-10 17:32:36] cristian dot datculescu at gmail dot com Description: When changing the .mo files, the changes are not taken into consideration until reloading/restarting the webserver. The solution we are using at the moment is to make symlinks for the modified .mo files and version them (so basicly php ends up reading a default_5.mo file). But we have run into a bug that it is for us very hard to track: sometimes while changing the .mo files and updating the version, about 50% of the translation attempts fail, reverting to printing the original text. It continues to do so until the webserver is reloaded/restarted. I have managed to replicate the bug by doing this: create the sylink, restart server, delete the symlink. In some of the cases the weird behaviour will start to manifest. What is even weirder is that putting back the symlinks does not help, the translation requests continuing to be 50% failed. -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=53986&edit=1

[2011-02-08 11:18:50] igor at wiedler dot ch I discovered this in the ICU documentation: > Any characters in the pattern that are not in the ranges of ['a'..'z'] and ['A'..'Z'] will be treated as quoted text. For instance, characters like ':', '.', ' ', '#' and '@' will appear in the resulting time text even they are not enclosed within single quotes. The single quote is used to 'escape' letters. Two single quotes in a row, whether inside or outside a quoted sequence, represent a 'real' single quote. Example: > .MM.dd G 'at' HH:mm:ss zzz > 1996.07.10 AD at 15:08:56 PDT http://userguide.icu-project.org/formatparse/datetime So the escaping is always between two quote characters, and not an escape character before each escaped character (like with date). Note that $string[1][0] is a relatively new construct (rev 301320), but it should follow the previous rules that empty and isset are silent. [2011-02-11 18:41:59] dtajchre...@php.net It looks like there was the change in behavior between 5.2.9 and 5.2.10. I don't know whether this was intentional or a side affect of another change. The difference can be seen here: http://codepad.org/iYcCCAkA /* 5.2.5 */ http://codepad.viper-7.com/msAbwQ /* 5.2.15RC3-dev */ I've reopened the ticket so this can be discussed. If it is intentional, it needs to be documented. [2011-02-09 21:30:10] david at frankieandshadow dot com I appreciate that this is the case. When you say "$obj->m[0] doesn't exist", yes I agree, BUT that is what the isset is testing for. If it SHOULD produce a runtime error, then (a) this is a very subtle non-upwards compatible change from 5.2, and (b) the example I quoted does NOT produce a runtime error so is a bug. (And producing a runtime error in these circumstances is terribly inconvenient, it means you can't test existence in one go but have to try each element individually). If it SHOULD NOT produce a runtime error then there is a problem with the larger code I have which follows this pattern and is doing so. There is a bug here one way or the other: either my larger program is wrong (but has worked for years with this code in it) or the example I put in the bug report is wrong in that it does not produce an error and never has. At present the behaviour is inconsistent. [2011-02-09 17:50:29] dtajchre...@php.net $obj->m is an empty string. You try to access a non-integer offset. Non-integer offsets are converted to integers. So in other words: $obj->m['a'] becomes $obj->m[0] $obj->m is an empty string and $obj->m[0] doesn't exist This behavior is documented here: http://us.php.net/manual/en/language.types.string.php "Warning Writing to an out of range offset pads the string with spaces. Non-integer types are converted to integer. Illegal offset type emits E_NOTICE. Negative offset emits E_NOTICE in write but reads empty string. Only the first character of an assigned string is used. Assigning empty string assigns NUL byte." Simplifying the problem: http://codepad.org/G31wr4oJ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
