[PHP] problems with 4.1.2 build
I'm trying to build PHP 4.1.2 with an existing static Apache 1.3.23 installation, and am having some resolution problems I haven't seen before. This is on a dusty old Free BSD 2.2.2 system, but I was able to build 4.1.1 with no problems with the same configuration. It uses gcc version 2.7.2.1 --- yes, I know I should upgrade the OS, but since it was able to make 4.1.1 ok a few weeks ago, I'm guessing that isn't the problem. I'm compiling in postgres and gd support, but have the same problem with them out. I followed the steps (minimal apache, php, fuill apache), running configure each time and doing a make clean. During the PHP make I see: gcc -I. -I/usr/local/src/php-4.1.2/sapi/apache -I/usr/local/src/php-4.1.2/main -I/usr/local/src/php-4.1.2 -I/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.23/src/include -I/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.23/src/os/unix -I/usr/local/src/php-4.1.2/Zend -I/usr/local/src/php-4.1.2/ext/xml/expat -I/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.23/src/include -I/usr/local/src/apache_1.3.23/src/os/unix -I/usr/local/src/php-4.1.2/TSRM -g -O2 -c mod_php4.c touch mod_php4.lo In file included from /usr/local/src/apache_1.3.23/src/include/httpd.h:72, from mod_php4.c:32: /usr/local/src/apache_1.3.23/src/include/ap_config.h:1386: warning: `XtOffsetOf' redefined /usr/local/src/php-4.1.2/main/php.h:342: warning: this is the location of the previous definition I was able to fix this by editing main/php.h and removing the extra spaces, so the definition was the same as in the other files. [PHP] bound variables and postgres
I've been using the PHP 4 postgres interface, but it does not support bound variables. Will it do so in the future, or are there any workarounds? -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[PHP] best way to flush stdout?
I have a page that displays a few lines, then runs a database query that takes five or six seconds. I'd like to flush stdout and display the first text while the query is running, so the user doesn't think the site is down. What's the best way to accomplish this? thanks -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [PHP] benefit of constants

The fact they can't be overwritten makes them more appropriate for true constants, absolutely no way to change their values. I frequently use them in include files to set widths, etc., that are brought into all the pages in a project. Plus, they have global scope - great if you are in the habit of forgetting global declarations in functions g. And my guess is their is less overhead in using them, even in an interpreted environment. -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[PHP] posgres 7 functions not working with PHP4
I've just built Apache 1.3.17 on Free BSD, using php-4.0.1pl2 and linking with the postgres 7.0.3 as a shared object. I also linked in mySQL support, which works correctly. When I try accessing the posgres database by calling pg_Connect(), my web server doesn't even display a page, other than "this page cannot be displayed" (in IE) or "page contains no data" (Netscape). The error log displays: (null): Undefined symbol "_PQsetdbLogin" called from httpd:/com/apache/libexec/libphp4.so at 0x8256498 1) Why isn't the function call resolving? It appears to be in the postgres library. 2) What's with the format of the error message? There isn't a date or error level field. I'm guessing the error occurred somewhere very early in the Apache parsing process. Does Postgres 7.0.3 work with PHP 4? thanks -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
