Here, I enlarged it to 8x10. http://holgamods.blinkk.net/images/limo.jpg
This one was shot 'lomo style' from the waist as I was walking by the bank.
This limo pulled up, and I didn't want them to know I was taking a picture.
I believe it was 1/15 sec.

I switched to plain text format, but that link is appearing in blue. I
don't know if there is a html tag in there or if it's just my email client
is recognizing it as a link. If there are tags in there, let me know and
I'll look further into it.

You don't need black PVC pipe for this. The white stuff is thick enough to
be opaque, and you can easily paint the inside flat black.

The curling helped hold the film in place. I cut strips of cardboard to
fill the rest of the holder at the top & bottom. The curl made it harder
to contact print until I was done for the night and put the negatives
away after 2hrs. Once I put them in sleeves they lined up pretty
good This is the only shot I did to test a idea. This is the only
shot I did with camera. I don't have a good eye for photography so I tend
to make a camera & move on to the next one. Now if I could get black PVC
4'' drain pipe I could make just the back & different focal lengths.

There definitely is. I don't remember it (college physics was 25 years ago...).

Almost any book on optics at your local public libraray should have it.
(It is something very simple like "the focal length is equal to the diameter"
or something like that.)

George,
Go to http://www.cyberbeach.net/~dbardell/pinhole.html for some nicely
built home made pinhole cameras

Then checkout my site for the design calculators http://www.MrPinhole.com

All Images in the Pinhole section of my site, with the exception of
"Jimmy"
were made with this type of camera.

Dave,
I really like the picture on the second page of your site at
http://redbug19.20m.com/photo2.html

The idea of using 3 strips of 35mm in a 4x5 holder is a new concept to
me but it produces terrific results. It must have been quite something
to load the strips and keep them in place despite the natural curling of
the film..
Have you done more of these?

Thanks. Why didn't I think of that? I'm still curious about whether there's
a formula for determining focal length from sphere diameter. - Original

I made a wooden ultra wide angle camera that takes 4x5" sheet film
holders. A picture can be found at:

If you have any questions regarding this camera, please feel free to
mail me.
