Sirius changed the way the media player worked this past weekend in the US. Pretty much everything changed, but I again have a working library for both the US and Canada. I stopped trying to integrate it into Greg's plugin and wrote a basic OPML based plugin that seems to mostly work. It probably has issues with error handling and it doesn't provide the same functionality as Greg's but at least it's function for both the US and Canada. I'll throw it up for download in the next day or so. It probably needs work so anyone who wants to contribute at that point is free to. It turns out my "free" subscription expires next month when my original radio subscription rolls over, so at that point this won't be all that useful for me personally. Nonetheless there are others who might still want to use it. Stay tuned. Interesting - Greg's plugin just stopped working about a week ago. I upgraded to 7.4 and that didn't help. It's not retrieving the channels, so it can't play at all. My sirius network player (via a web browser) works fine. I happen to be an experienced perl developer if I can help in any way. But I've never built anything for Squeezecenter. Yes and No. After digging into the code a bit more I'm surprised it works at all. I know there's several years of cruft in there, but WOW is it ugly. I pretty much gave up on deciphering the tangled web of global variables and other oddities. Instead I wrote a separate PERL module for interacting with the Sirius US and CA sites that does everything except provide the UI bits. I'm now trying to shoehorn that back into Greg's plugin since I don't really want to deal with the UI. I need to refactor a few things to be asynchronous and add better error handling before I'd want to turn it loose on anyone else. So yes there is news, but I'm a little slower than I expected because I didn't anticipate just throwing in the towel and rewriting a large portion of it :) If I were to continue down the path of rewriting the whole thing, I'd probably just use OPML like the "official" plugin and clone its functionality and appearance.I wonder if there'd be a negative response from Logitech though for making something that looks exactly like their plugin, but works for both US/CA and high/low bitrate streams? That's probably the easiest option, but I'll try to work with Greg's plugin because some people like the added functionality it has. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Greg Brown's Sirius Plugin & New SqueezeCenter
Wow, bummed to hear of the extra work. I am sure I can speak for myself and many others who won't take the time to post, but who are using this plugin and waiting for it. A lot of us have basic streaming but don't want to pay the extra fees for premium. But still want to use our SqueezeBox and stuff. I think Logitech doesn't officially support the plugin but isn't going to stop you from writing it or anything. Really I don't need it to be perfect, just somehow be able to once again listen to the stream on my squeezebox. I miss waking up to Howard Stern! Thanks either way, appreciate your efforts. -- BDP BDP's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33570 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69833 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Greg Brown's Sirius Plugin & New SqueezeCenter
Hi. I installed Greg's Siruis plug in last week and it worked for a awhile. However, now it won't connect to Sirius and I'm not sure why. For the details, see my posting from earlier today on this Forum. I was able to install the plug in by extracting his plug in zipfile to the SqueezeCenre/server/plugins directory as per the instructions from his website. Hopefully someone will help us out on this. -- rick.leech rick.leech's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33803 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69833 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm in the same boat -- A lifetime subscriber who was using Greg's plugin which is now incompatible for SBS. Please keep me in the loop of any info regarding grandfathering to high quality or an update to Greg's plugin. Thanks for the reply. There were rumors of that happening, but the last I read, it is not true -- We were given standard streaming but not high quality streaming.
