Re: [pmapper-users] plugin digitize points but with polygons and lines

2012-04-11 Thread Giovanni Manghi
Hi Pedro,

next pmapper release will be integrated with OpenLayers, so I guess your
best shot will be to use the tools that OL already have to allow editing
of geometries and attributes.

cheers

Anybody work with pmapper and mapserver for editing polygons and lines
like the plugin digitize points works for points?

Can anybody share any code about that? or tutorials for implementing that?

2012-04-11 Thread Pedro Costa
Thanks Gio.

I have one more question to the list. Someone usually use legends with
different symbols, not likepoints, polygons or lines? For example from
images?
Is there any material available on symbols, examples of trees, poles of
electricity or something like that?

thanks

you can find extensive information about the symbol system for Mapserver here:

(not sure, though, if already adapted to changes introduced in MS 6)

special symbols are best supplied via TTF fonts, some cartographic
 TTF's are available here:

Commercial TTF's are available e.g. from ESRI and probably other GIS
software providers. And there are TTF editors that let you create your
 own TTF fonts.
