Have you tried downloading the "updater" and installing it ?

Some of their updaters are in fact full installers.

Hello Jim,

the problem is that this would be illeagal. Global village has a
copyright on the software.

There is a support page online at global village. Make a request.
In my case, i needed drivers for my Powerbook 540, the support
there was very helpful and gave me the software. The modem in
the PB540 is OEM although.

Try Decor v3.0 under System 7.5.3 or System 7.5.5, works! -mike.




I know this doesn't directly involve PowerBooks, but I was wondering
if it is possible to use the Desktop Pictures control panel from Mac
OS 8 in System 7.5.5. I tried it with no luck. It just gave me an
error saying that it wasn't properly installed and to put it in my
Control Panels folder, even though it was in the Control Panels
folder. If it isn't possible are there any third-party programs that
will do the same thing? Thanks

I've got a customer who has a PowerBook 1400 and a Model A959  
Global Village 56 Kbps modem and 10Base-T Ethernet adapter PC card.  
The card won't work because the correct installer software hasn't  
been run. The Global Village web site only has updaters, not the  
OEM installer software, which is required to run the updater. Does  
anyone have a copy of the installation disk for this card? Or can  
you point me to a place I can download the installer on the  
internet (I sought, but did not find it online). Or, can you e-mail  
me the installer (I've got DSL, so big downloads are no problem).

Ah! That's the one I was thinking of, but couldn't remember the name.

Works like a champ in 7.1, the only OS I've tried it in. (Has a great
feature that allows picture changing as well, something that I love
about OSX.)
