Fwiw, I've had a number of posts bounce with a "Content not acceptable here" or some
such error. Posting the same message (always plain text; I wrote the mail handler I'm
using to read emails (http://digestHandler.webhop.org -- OS X only, I'm afraid -- and
Mail.app has borked a few times too) later usually gets it through.

Emailed the "listmom" and got told list admin wasn't up his alley. ??

Anyhow, just to confirm that wacky bounces do happen on the list with some regularity,
though not enough to skip straight to list profanity. ;^)

Yes, you are correct, and one of the people who objects to such language is
your friendly listnanny. I have removed the offending list member.

I am aware that there are sometimes difficulties with the unsubscription
process. I suggest that anyone who is interested in getting help with list
processes of any kind save this email and write to me directly if need be.
It sure beats writing to the whole list, which is of course full of hundreds
of innocent people who can often do little to assist (although the
"Unsubscribe Kit" reply definitely wins an award of some kind.)

We now return you to hopefully civilized discourse.

thanks,

Re Removal from list

2004-02-04 Thread MMB
Lily:

I have found that as well as sending an unsubscribe message to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I have to do one more thing.

When the reply comes asking you to confirm, DO NOT hit the reply button.

Instead, copy and paste the reply address into TO line. In the subject
line make sure you quote the number they send you and then send.

I don't understand why but this stops your email bouncing.

Good luck

Maria

You know, instead of sending two messages like this, you COULD follow the
instructions at the bottom of the emails (like this one) and just
unsubscribe yourself, peacefully, quietly, and less vociferously.

Bouncing can be induced by sending the message from an address different than the one
you subscribed from.

Is it a bounce or an automated reply? MacLaunch requires you to confirm any
request by replying to the automated message (which contains a special code
their system recognizes).

I've tried for several days to get off the list by following the
instructions. My mail is bounced back to me. I don't know what to do.
