Re: CD burner?

2014-02-18 Thread Nick Gawronski
Hi, Well in a way it does matter if you want your discs to be playable
in all major CD players that play audio CD's. I would make sure it is
an audio disc as if I was going to send it to someone else I don't want
to send them to someone and then they can't play it because it is just a
mp3 disc. I would never burn mp3 to audio discs anyway as the audio
quality is usually pritty bad as if you take an audio disc from the
store and rip it to mp3 then listen to both tracks back to back the
uncompressed track and the compressed track you will hear a major
difference. I did this and was shocked. Nick Gawronski

WaveBurner does and there are certainly others although I'm not sure how
specifically accessible the other standard options are. Worth looking into at

Yes, it's just a data disc with whatever files are contained within the folder.

Re: CD burner?

2014-02-17 Thread Slau Halatyn
Ah, I see. Yes, it is pretty straight-forward once you try it. There are a few
utilities in the App Store for burning discs but I haven't tried any. There was
an old freeware program simply called "Burn" which works well if you can find
it. Let me know if you're interested and I can send you a link. Otherwise,
iTunes does work well for basic burns although you have to import the songs in
order to generate the disc and that does end up being more steps than
necessary, not to mention bloating one's library. There used to be a CD
mastering program from Apple called WaveBurner but it's no longer available.
Hopefully, Apple will eventually re-release it but don't hold your breath. In
the mean time, yeah, just burn from the Finder.

Just about every aspect of WaveBurner is very easy to use.
You can insert mastering plugs if you want.
