Hi Brian,

The meter is in the channel strip. It'll show up after you've checked the boxes
in the Preferences dialog. Zoom will maximize the window. Try not to show
inserts f through j and sends f through j.

how do I maximize the screen, and is it always good to have it maximized in pro

Hi Brian,

In the Metering tab of the Preferences window there are a few checkboxes you'll
need to set. They're fairly obvious. Don't show too many items in the Mix
window and maximize your screen. You should see the meter working whenever gain
reduction is occurring.

Actually, the first volume fader still moves in half a dB increment. It's the
second slider that moves in a tenth. That's the indicator that you can
Command-click to cycle between volume, peak and sample delay displays.

Try interacting with the volume slider on a track. You'll notice that
instead of it moving in half a DB increments, it now moves in a 10th a DB
increments. This really really confused me at first, as I was like, why
isn't the damn level increasing when holding down vo+Up arrow. Finally I
looked, and that's when it dawned on me.

I don't recall 12.2 doing this, though I could be wrong.
