  i understand that i can load tiles from any web server using gdal WMS;
  and i used http://www.gdal.org/frmt_wms.html to create my xml file;

 own
  tiles to create the raster layer;

  I am not sure if I understand You correctly.
  If You want to load multiple georeferenced images from Your local
  directory as one layer, You can use 'gdalbuildvrt' to create virtual
  raster and load it to QGIS.

Re: [Qgis-developer] Colors selection when adding multiple layers could be improved

2012-09-23 Thread Giovanni Manghi

 When adding multiple layers to a map for quick data inspection,
 initial color selection is not perfect.

 It happens often that some colors are very similar and I have to
 change some of them in order to distinguish them better
 The very first colors may be chosen to be visually quite different
 from each other.

it is a known issue, see

Would it be possible to revert to previous behaviour for the random
colours? Or were they no random before?
