[Qgis-user] DEM values extraction
Dear users: Can someone give me a hint about how I can extract (using a polygon .shp) height values from a DEM and assigning zero or any codified value to the nodes located outside the polygon. Thanks in advance. Hernán ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Thanks in advance. Hernán Could you clip the DEM to the polygon and then vectorise the result? Both should be in the raster menu. -ramon. ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

Just use the optional plugin Point sampling tools. You can try this module. http://grass.osgeo.org/grass64/manuals/v.rast.stats.html Mark My bad. I thought it was the grass-user list. Need more coffee to wake up! [Qgis-user] Kernel Analyses in QGIS
Hi all. Following the stimulus by Marco, we have set up a bid for fix: http://www.bidforfix.com/p/animove/ Briefly, the idea is simple: - a developer is available to do the work - interested people subscribe to the bid, promising various amounts (yes, even one euro counts) - when the total is reached, work starts - when finished, users check the results - if positive, they pay the promised amount. Quite simple, people-to-people, no admin overhead. Of course the aim of this work is not to replace the excellent and *far* more comprehensive adehabitat R module, but only to make it easy for users to run kernel and restricted MCP analyses on their point data, overcoming the current problems, and without the need to install additional software, setting PATHs, etc. If this first test is successful, more functions can be added. Do not hesitate asking if you need additional info. All the best, and thanks for your cooperation. [Qgis-user] Grid creation and export data to *.asc
Hello QGIS users, I have a raster image of human population counts (LandScan) of approximately 1 km resolution. I need to take each cell of the raster one by one and retrieve the population count for that cell. To do this, I was told to create a grid theme of population density - based on the grid themes specifying population counts and area. Export population count and population density files from ArcView to *.asc files. I am not sure how to create the grid nor how to export pop count and density files to *.asc. Any tips? Thank you in advance! Luciano La Sala ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
