Sean,
Ignore my first line, it’s a typo. I got dragged away to something else, came
back to this and forgot to read the email before I sent it.
Regards,

Richard

Hi Sean,
As you are looking at volumes, Im assuming you have two DEM’s one with the
volume you want to calculate and the other without?

The link below will show you an example of this

Is it possible to calculate surface volume from aerial photographs (orthomosaic
maps in DEM tif file format) in QGIS?

Everything I have found on the internet refers to using
satellite images. I did find one article on generating surface
volume from drone imagery but is difficult to understand as it is
missing some steps and/or the steps aren't clear and do not render the
same results from step to step even though I follow the steps to the letter.

Please help

Hi Sean,

In the GRASS toolbox you can find some tools to handle volumes.
I found this post:
https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/168035/calculate-volume-over-sloped-ground-in-grass-gis

Hope it helps.

Greetings
Wouter

Hi,

I imagine you are looking for the area? You can make a polygon and measure the
area of a shape.
https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/23355/calculating-polygon-areas-in-qgis

You can also use the distance measure tool in the toolbar and use the area
option.

Ça va bien aller!
