RE: [QUAD-L] SP Cath size
I've rarely ever had sediment in my pee. I can't recall once when it was plugged up with junk. I've had my cath not drain before, but never seen junk in it. So I guess it could have had it just not enough to see. what I don't under stand about this latest leaking was... I never sweated. I get AD from bladder stuff real easy. So if this was plugged enough to force leaking, why no sweating. I did not even know about it until mornig when everything was wet. Usually when my bladder fills up a bit, I sweat. Greg

24F, about six years. I had problems with leakage with smaller sizes, and also problems with blockages. For about 15 years I used a 16F, but it started leaking around the cath itself, through the incision. So I changed to a 18F. But after only a few years, it's leaking again. Only at night. No idea why. Not blocked, not plugged, no junk in it, no sweating. In the morning everything is wet, night bag 1/4 full. So it's draing some, but not backing up causing AD or anything. I don't want to keep going up in size. How often do you go up in size? Thanks, Greg
Re: [QUAD-L] SP Cath size
My Doctor did the same thing I have a 24fr almost 13 yrs now with 5cc balloon. He said the same thing it will help with less sediment and I also use silicone since allergic to latex ones. Like Quadius said maybe go to a bigger balloon. Since you don't want to a bigger catheter. Regina Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Tue, Nov 24, 2015 at 5:12 PM, Danny Hearn wrote: My Doc. Re: [QUAD-L] SP Cath size
I used 22 French and 24 fr when I have a suprapubic. Have you tried putting a little bit more fluid in the balloon? Also you might want to try getting some sort of device to tether the catheter to your body. I had a great success with this when I had my suprapubic.
