That would probably be fine if I don't have ant radio gear then.
Otherwise it probably will be c6c or technobots. Whichevers cheaper

Failing that, technobots do a dirt cheap 3 channel 40MHz system for
 about 40 quid.

I paid £150 for a 40MHz Futaba 4 channel with servos and Rx about six
years back. I'd expect to be paying a lot less for a similar system
now the market has a lot of flashy computerised Tx's available.

[TANKS] Re: Is this a good deal?

2009-03-10 Thread Paul Hilton

True, Derek. I missed the $9.99 boat myself. I picked the two that I have
up from Ebay for $22. There are a LOT of these things out there.

http://cgi.ebay.com/VEX-ROBOTICS-TRANSMITTER-AND-RECEIVER-ADDS-A-2ND-USER_W0QQitemZ220374695682QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item220374695682_trksid=p3286.c0.m14_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Crystals can also be had for cheap. They are a little thick and clunky (the
transmitters), but are solid and well made. The 5th and 6th channels are on
the bottom and consist of high/low buttons that can be used trigger-like
with no mods.

This is what I use;

http://www.squadronleader.co.uk/product/DX5e_5-Channel_2.4_GHz_Radio_System_SPM5500---DX5E

No servos with it but not a problem if you're using an electronic speed
controller and skid steer.

The RX that comes with it is really made for aircraft use and has some
disconcerting features for ground use but thats not such a problem for a supply
vehicle.
