I removed the memory chip from the battery backup chip that sits between the memory and the socket on the circuit board. After replacing the memory chip I found the Z38A with the factory default settings including the password. 73 - Jim W5ZIT --- On Wed, 10/22/08, Bill Alexander [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Bill Alexander [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Zentron Z48B Programming To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Date: Wednesday, October 22, 2008, 8:02 AM Trying to talk to a Z48B, can not find the reset button manual refers to, to get menu to come up. [Repeater-Builder] Zetron 45-48B db9 cable
Talked to Zetron this week and here is the factory version of correct cable, I noted on the 48B manual in file section had a hand written Null cable written in, this will only work on receiving data and not talking to zetron controller. PC RS232 2 3 3 4 5 5 ON PC SIDE cable JUMPER PIN 4 TO 6 AND PIN 7 TO 8 The color code for cable seems to change, so can not give you any help. I just cut the end off and used shrink tubing to seal the wires.Works well. Alex kr6g
