[Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR 5000
Does anyone know where I can find a VPl-1 programming cable? Seen some on Ebay but they are listed as not working with the VXR-7000, are the pinouts differant from the mobile ham radios to the repeater the VPL-1 is supposed to work with? Purchased a UHF repeater to run on Echolink, planning on the Tigertronics Signalink USB interface. Has anyone used the Signalink with success? Can I run IRLP off the same Signalink or is a seperate interface required? Thx, Joe
Re: [Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR 5000
I did post a schematic that is compatable with the VXR-7000 on the repeater builder site. Terry, I've interfaced a Link Com Club Deluxe II to our Vertex VXR-5000. It did not require any rewiring except for the verification of a Yaesu factory mod. All interfacing was done via the DB-25 connector on the bottom panel. One nice benefit of interfacing via the accessory connector is the VXR-5000 will revert to a stand-alone repeater when the DB-25 is unplugged if configured properly. (Details omitted for brevity.) If you're interested in my notes please mail me off list at dzastrow -at- qwest -dot- net. And yes, our VXR-5000 does not include a factory ID'er. Lastly, the Pacific Research product really looks slick and it can't be beat for it's plug 'n play approach. If it has all the features you needI'd vouch to say if Eric Lemmon is satisfied with it you couldn't go wrong. - Original Message - From: Terry Brown To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, March 22, 2006 9:23 PM Subject: RE: [Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR-5000 I have one of the 5000's and i have a Link Controller that never has interfaced correctly since I have had it. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR-5000
Mike Terry, That RB web page pretty well covers it. And itnicely details the Pin 13 advantage of being able to revert to stand-alone repeater operation when the DB-25 cable to the controller is unplugged. Re: [Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR-5000
Hi group, Have two repeater problems to figure out. I am trying to add a CWID 51B (CSC) to a Vertex VXR-5000 440 repeater, looking for application notes for it. Sent an email to CSC no luck yet, also need to change ID to my Call sign, IC still available, anyone know?? Doesn't the Yaesu have an internal ID'er??? I would expect it to. If it does, the CSC is superfluous. -- Jim Barbour WD8CHL Yahoo! Mike, You're correct- the VXR-5000 controller did not include an ID-er. Terry, No, and that is what sold me on the RI-310 controller. It was literally plug and play. RE: [Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR-5000
Mike, CSC (Control Signal Corporation) is very much in business. You can purchase an instruction manual from CSC, along with the PROM. The CWID-51B Automatic Station Identifier is a reliable and flexible unit, and the only down side of it is the requirement for a custom-programmed PROM. I doubt that CSC would have interface information for a VXR-5000 repeater, since the external interface connector is straightforward, and the manual covers all of the pinouts. Dunno anything about the MSF5000 repeater; I'm an MTR2000 fan. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY -Original Message- From: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Michael Antoine Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2006 4:01 PM To: Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Vertex VXR-5000 Hi group, Have two repeater problems to figure out.
