I read your email to Mike, in Repeater-Builder. I am interested in more
information on 2.4 Ghz.
Where does one locate parts? Is it easier to build the circuits or purchase
pre-assembled parts?
How much forward power is needed to reach 25-30, straight line of sight, miles,
on 2.4 GHz?
How big an antenna is needed?
What are the basic parts of a 2.4 Ghz station?
Which is better to take a small sample of 146 Mhz & mix it in a transverter to
get 2.4 Ghz? Or feed audio into a 2.4Ghz unit?

At my earth station job, we use a 70 Mhz IF. So, could I use a 146 Mhz IF, with
a transverter, to get 2.4 Ghz?

Which would best for 25-30 miles 903Mhz, 1.2 Ghz, or 2.4 Ghz? Of course, have
considered and may use Uhf, if I can locate proper equipment.

Where can I read more about sources of & how to interface microwave
communications equipment?

Are there many Ghz stations in the 48 states?

So, as you can see I have a basic idea of the parts used to get to 2.4 Ghz.
Although, I am interested in more information.

Thanks for your time.

JimKh6jkg.

Anyone notice that mods.dk is now a closed site that is charging to view
anymore then 1 page per day?

I have a number of mods I have written, and that appear on mods.dk. I have
always given my mods away under a license that lets anyone post them and
change them so long as they are used for non commercial use, and not have
any
fees charged for them.

I believe they are using a good of deal of repeater builder related material
as well. This is definitely against my wishes and I have been trying to
find
an email address to email an admin there to take my content down, either
that
or pay me.

This is wrong to take content from around the net and charge for it with out
obtaining permission from the content producers.

Yeah, I know, off topic.

But it pisses me off, too.

I wrote and asked them to remove the one mod I wrote (in 1992!) from their
server.

I wrote to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]

2006-01-31 Thread Jay Urish
I just went through the registration process and was emailed by [EMAIL
PROTECTED]
I returned a rather pointed email stating that I have mods that are
posted there and that they are not authorized to make money off of them.

The email has not bounced yet...

[Repeater-Builder] mods.dk (possiably OT)

2006-01-31 Thread Bryan Fields
Anyone notice that mods.dk is now a closed site that is charging to view
anymore then 1 page per day?

I have a number of mods I have written, and that appear on mods.dk. I have
always given my mods away under a license that lets anyone post them and
change them so long as they are used for non commercial use, and not have any
fees charged for them.

I believe they are using a good of deal of repeater builder related material
as well. This is definitely against my wishes and I have been trying to find
an email address to email an admin there to take my content down, either that
or pay me.

This is wrong to take content from around the net and charge for it with out
obtaining permission from the content producers.
