There seems to be precious little documentation about it. The importer interfaces are all ‘secret sauce’; you need a license from Xperi, who bought out the HDRadio IP from Ibiquity awhile back, to get the docs ($$$). That said, I know of at least one commercial service (https://myquu.net/) that supports Rivendell PAD input for HDRadio. Cheers! |-| | Frederick F. Re: [RDD] HD Radio
I did this around 10 years ago when we put HD 1 through 4 on 88.5 in Tampa. I had some software that would do PAD/PSD data from...somewhere. I can't recall and Google is failing me. Maybe it was PRSS/Content Depot software labs or a similar source. The software wasn't designed to work with Rivendell, but I was able to feed it some data and then capture the packets that it put out with wireshark. Once I could see exactly the formatting that the HD Exporter/Importer boxes wanted to see, I just set up a daemon with netcat for each channel. I would send netcat the artist & title via UDP packet from Rivendell, and then netcat would spit out the correct formatting to the HD gear. It worked really well, but I do recall the documentation being basically non-existent (or, if it does exist, it's locked away in a vault at ibiquity). Without that piece of 3rd party software that I can't recall, I never would've figured out what to send in the data packets to the HD gear. That being said, I did stumble across a more recent (2018) generic article about implementing PSD, and according to my rusty familiarity with the subject, it looks like it might get you headed in the right direction: https://mediarealm.com.au/articles/ibiquity-hd-radio-now-playing-data/ On Sun, Jan 9, 2022 at 9:35 AM Rob Landry <41001...@interpring.com> wrote: > > WSRO 650 AM in Ashland, MA has been running Rivendell for several years. > They recently flipped to all-digital using the MA-3 mode of HD Radio. > > Has anyone developed a way to get metadata from rdairplay to display on an > HD Radio? Re: [RDD] HD Radio
We don't use this, but I'm curious about it. Is WSRO using now/next in an FM broadcast? If so, would the AM side be similar to the FM side? Based on this Nautel document I found, I expect you'll have to set up a Rivendell UDP PyPad to send the data to the transmitter and some sort of configuration on the transmitter to accept the data. https://support.nautel.com/content/user_files/sites/2/2018/07/Tips-N-Tricks-Jeff-Welton-NUG2018.pdf Mike On Sun, Jan 9, 2022 at 6:35 AM Rob Landry <41001...@interpring.com> wrote: > > WSRO 650 AM in Ashland, MA has been running Rivendell for several years. > They recently flipped to all-digital using the MA-3 mode of HD Radio. > > Has anyone developed a way to get metadata from rdairplay to display on an > HD Radio? [RDD] HD Radio
WSRO 650 AM in Ashland, MA has been running Rivendell for several years. They recently flipped to all-digital using the MA-3 mode of HD Radio. Has anyone developed a way to get metadata from rdairplay to display on an HD Radio? There seems to be precious little documentation about it. [RDD] HD Radio and Rivendell
Can Rivendell deliver Program Associated Data ("PAD") to HD Radio exporters or signal generators? If so, can Rivendell deliver PAD to the latest generation of HD Radio hardware?
