[Samba] Access registry on remote Windows machine?
Hi, all. I just bumped into an old script that used SambaTNG's rpcclient to access a remote Windows machine's registry: rpcclient -S $ip -U administrator\%pwd -c 'registry key enum "$query"' That's pretty slick -- but I see no way to accomplish this through stock Samba, be it rppcclient or something else. Am I missing something? Thanks! -Ken -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba

Once I have defined the Policies for my domain I edit smb.conf and change read only to Yes in sysvol section, then restart samba. This way I ensure nobody can modify sysvol content. The main disadvantage is that if we need to make any modification to policies, etc. we have to set back read only to No in sysvol section, restart samba, and do the previous steps again after modifications. Re: [Samba] USB Drive Permissions?
Okay, it looks like things are working now. I have the following fstab entry for the drive I'm trying to share: # UUID=349E7C109E7BC8BE /media/Personal1 ntfs-3g users, noexec, nosuid, nodev 0 0 It appears that I can just force the filesystem to ntfs-3g and go from there ie fuseblk is for local users who want to mount the drive. I am still dealing with the locking issue, though. Working on it... -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba

Last week i backported weezys 3.5.11 samba package to lenny and I still go these random errors. I went back to lenny version 3.2.5 and since then printing works fine. Guess that sorts out network related issues. Will monitor printing for an few more days and then try an samba version which supports win7 clients. achim~ -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba

[Samba] show only existing userhomes
Hi, Is it possible to show only userhomes that really exist in filesystem? Only a few userhomes do exist on our samba fileserver , but at this moment for every user that connect to this server a userhome is shown, but mostly it doesn´t exists - so it couldn´t be opened. I´ve tried to configure it by using "hide unreadable = yes" on our homeshare but this didn´t help. Any Idea? We use Samba 3.6.0.
