Re: [RCSE] Own a Multiplex Radio?
In the interest of "fair & balanced," re. Hobby Horse, here is what I posted in April 2005: About six years ago I placed a large order with them, including a JR 8103 radio. I asked the wife to ship the immediately available portion of the order early in a separate shipment. She agreed and assured me there would be no extra charge. When the first shipment arrived there was a $5.00 shipping charge on the invoice. I telephoned Jim about this and was met with a torrent of vitriol I still can't believe all these years later. I was a "liar," his wife had "made no such assurance," & etc. The really strange part of this - at that time, this outfit had a policy of free shipping for orders over $100. Hobby Horse? More like the south side of the genuine article! Russ Hall CapnCrunchie wrote: > > Good to hear that you guys got good service at Hobby Horse. My first (and > only) > order to them was not good. RE: [RCSE] Own a Multiplex Radio?
Good to hear that you guys got good service at Hobby Horse. My first (and only) order to them was not good. At the time I called they said all orders over $100 received free shipping. So Iasked for 4 Hitec 85mg's over the phone and placed my order. But when the order arrived it only contained 2 servos.I called and they said the ran out and the other 2 were on back order and would be sent when they arrived. But then they charged me shipping on BOTH orders because when they split the order neither one totaled over $100. Since I was made to pay for shipping TWICE for an order that should have been free I resolved to never order from them again. There are other vendors that have the same products at same (or better) prices. My LHS or ServoCity gets my money now... Just my 2 cents. RE: [RCSE] Own a Multiplex Radio?
I agree Hobby Horse are fast and good people to deal with on the phone as well. They also carry TX crystals. Definitely a GOOD VENDOR! RE: [RCSE] Own a Multiplex Radio?
Ditto on the endorsement. HobbyHorse.com carries good inventory in specific lines including Multiplex radios, Hacker motors, and Phoenix controllers. I've bought Multiplex radios, crystals, backup cables, and frequency modules from them and always have had a good experience.
