[2008.8] SEGFAULT using opkg in a ssh

2008-09-12 Thread François TOURDE
Hi.

I've a script to reinstall from scratch my FreeRunner, starting from
flashing the u-boot NAND, ending with reinstalling my apps and
addressbook.

I encounter a strange problem when I try to opkg some packets:

Here is a trace of one of the script commands:

-8<---8<---8<---8<--

[2008.08] dbus-daemon is using lot of CPU...

2008-09-09 Thread François TOURDE
Hi,

On my FreeRunner, running Om2008.8 and with a opkg upgrade on 8
september, the dbus-daemon is power/cpu consuming.

Top say:

 1442 root 20 0 10768 636 S 16.3 7.2 63:37.36 dbus-daemon
 1481 root 20 0 48588 39m 5820 S 6.3 32.4 31:53.40 enlightenment

ps say:
root 1442 9.6 7.2 10900 8932 ?Ss 00:39 64:57
/usr/bin/dbus-daemon --fork --print-pid 4 --print-address 6 --session

Any hint for this issue ? I'll put it on Trac after the next opkg
upgrade, if needed.

[2008.8] Qtopia media player don't start playing

2008-09-05 Thread François TOURDE
Hi,

Sometimes, launching the Qtopia media player result in no sound
played and progress bar stay at 0.00 ... Any idea ? (reboot/restart
X/suspend-resume are not revelant).

I also have some difficulties with the GUI of the app... Vol+/Vol-,
Next/Prev, etc... Am I alone with this issue?

I do a

opkg -force-depends purge illume-
opkg install illume-

for each packets, then modified /etc/enlightenment/default_profile and
finally restarted X. Everything is correct now.

Ok, but how and where should I insert group infos on my VCF ? Google
doesn't help me, and I can't find docs about qtopia address book :(

[2008.8] [Qtopia] Address book and groups during import

2008-09-04 Thread François TOURDE
Hi.

(Posted 1st in Community, but probably here is the best place)

Short version:

Is there a way to create qtopia address book Groups during .vcf import
? And to start qtopia address book on groups instead of contacts ?

Long version:

Each time I reflash my FR (and it's relatively frequent ^^), I need to
re-import my whole address book. Easy to do, but when I want to call
somebody, I need to scroll a lot of my book...

Is there a way to auto create groups during import, or can I import a
file containing group definitions?

Thanks a lot.

You can use the attached script to do that... Run it as a nohup
background process, or put it on session start scripts.

Pay attention that when you receive a call, the script is not awaken,
so result is unpredictable... (I've not tested this case, because I've
no friends calling me ^^)

May I suggest a small update to your script, to check if multiple
files are matching current alsa status?

Anyway, this script is usefull when trying to check what's up with the
sound, and that jack insertion do nothing on sound :(

Maybe a ssh key is a good alternative. I know nothing about dropbear
(And I've not yet received my FR), but a key is harder than a simple
text password, isn't it ?

Try to remove unsent/draft/sent SMS too, maybe it can help.

And try to "reset" the SMS app without SIM, in case...
