Re: XMPP & Visability
pidgin does not support xmpp visibility settings as there isn't (yet) a good standard for supporting that. As to whether you can apply invisibilty settings to groups of people at once that depends entirely on the capabilities of the protocols involved. I believe some support that and some do not (but don't recally any specific details). -Etan ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? XMPP & Visability
Hello. Just joined this group now. I've d/loaded the latest version of Pidgin a few days ago (Ive used older version before).. 1) When i'm invisible, i can right-click on a user/person, & allow them to see me. However, I can't do this with XMPP accounts. (Or is there another way ?) 2) is there a way to move a person, or multiple people to a 'group' & check 'presence settings' for the entire group at once ? so they can see me online ? basically, I want to be left alone, for a few hours a night, but allow 'important' folk to see me.. - if needed. ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Unless that has changed, it can't exist in Pidgin. why does it need to be in the "official" (Yahoo messenger) programme to be incorporated into Pidgin ? Either you are visable, or not - Easy... if the "visable" command is active (even if you are invisible to the other people), its just a matter of Pidgin remembering which person you want visable / to see you, & then stick a 'permanent' thing on it. so next time you come online - It automatically marks the person as able to see you. - no changes needed in Yahoo Messenger system to cope.. I haven't used it in so long I > haven't a clue. I've just checked - i'm on Version 2.6.2 now - I see on the website there is a 2.6.6 (I may download that and see...) But in my one now - if you right-click a person, you can go presence settings >> appear online presence settings >> appear permanently offline the online one is only for the time you are on, - if you log out, it resets.. a "permanently online" option would be good.. (downloading latest pidgen now) - yes, same things - i'm on 2.6.6 now, & can see a permanently offline - but no permanently online ability. - same as previous option.. & yes, you can forward to any official channels if you want... -- G Freecycle Auckland :- http://www.freecycle.org/ ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Is that an option in the official client? I haven't used it in so long I haven't a clue. I'd be surprised if it were and hasn't already been incorporated in Pidgin. That would be a very useful option and I'd be willing to file a feature request based off your email (if that would be ok with you). -- Yours In Christ, PIT Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want. Visability...
Good day. when using pidgin, (one of the recent versions..) I can mark a yahoo person as showing on my screen, even if they are logged off (I do not show other logged off people).. now, this setting "sticks" & remains for that particular person - no matter how many times I log off & log back in, I can always see their status / name on my screen (I want this)... However, If i am "invisible" - i can mark a person, so they can see me as online - even if I am invisible. This setting, does NOT "stick" - & I have to manually do that each time I log in... (I do see a "permanently OFFline setting, so they can NEVER see me online) - Can there be a permanently ONline setting / option ? Is there a setting in the latest version of pidgen, so BOTH of these settings "stick" and i dont have to manually adjust them when i log in... - If it does do that, I'll d/load the latest version) If the second option is not yet available, who do I contact to make a suggestion ? -- G Freecycle Auckland :- http://www.freecycle.org/ ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
