Moreover, the problem is exacerbated by the fact that build machines don't exactly have an easy life. If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, it's actually a little padlock, and it indicates that your mail password is transmitted to the server securely when you get messages. I prefer to de-install then install the new one, because if you do an upgrade in-place, your registry contains items related to each different version. Un-installing cleaned the registry.
