Problem on Website with Javascript

2017-01-19 Thread Stephan Thiele
When opening
https://hoax-info.tubit.tu-berlin.de/software/emailencoder.shtml, Seamonkey
(Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0
SeaMonkey/2.46) first gives a warning (script seems to be busy) and then
crashes. Can anybody reproduce this behavior? Any solutions? The page works
well with other browsers (Edge, Firefox, Opera).

Re: Seamonkey release?

2016-09-12 Thread Stephan Thiele

Hi, Edmund,

thanks a lot for your explanations. I think I understood it’s pretty much
to do and it’s difficult enough to merely adapt the changes in basic
codebase and infrastructure.
Thank you for all the work that you as volunteers put into the project, and
hope on ..

Seamonkey release?

2016-09-08 Thread Stephan Thiele
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't really understand why there
still is no Seamonkey update after the 2.40 release in March, almost half a
year ago.
I am quite confused that there a nightlies with version numbers increasing
to 2.48 while there is not even a beta.
Seamonkey is my default browser and mail and news program, so I don't like
to take any risk of losing my data and mails by using a buggy nightly. On
the other hand, I see a lot of security updates of Firefox and Thunderbird
which have been published in the meantime and therefore I'm concerned about
unfixed vulnerabilities in Seamonkey.

Any hope?

warning popup instead of warning bar?

2013-10-30 Thread Stephan Thiele
Since SM 2.17, a warning appears on top of the main window when leaving a
ssl-protected page etc. In earlier versions there had been a popup window
instead. Is ist possible to get the popup back? To me it’s annoying to have
to use the mouse to close this warning instead of the return key.

Is it possible to get SM to work on Vista, I have checked XP, SP2 on the
compatibility tab

I am and have been working with SM (1.1.x as well as 2.0a) on Vista without
any problem. You don't need to choose a compatibility.

Maybe you should try to simlpy download one of the zipped versions and run
the seamonkey.exe. The program itself doesn't need an install.
