AVG Free has always worked great on my PC's, now AVG 9.0 on Vista, and
in my opinion it's the best AV software. ;)

Hello, Ares!

Good news for you! I have followed your good instruction. I've found
that I have not added a compnent! Big oops! I have fixed that so far, it
is working nicely!

And one curious question to ask you. Do you guys uses IMAP server?
incoming mails does not get scanned. Are they???

I don't use IMAP. But I assume that with IMAP you are not downloading
any emails, only reading them from the server the same way as with
posts in news groups? They don't get scanned by your AVG.

Yup, here too. Avg 9 SM 2 and WinXP sp3 all happy
together.
I can't get the email scanner to work in AVG 8.5 or 9.0. I have tried
both SM 1.1.18 and SM 2.0 and selected "Personal E-mail Scanner" in
setup and scan for both incoming and outgoing mail. Nothing works. When
I open the Component, E-Mail Scanner, it shows the number of emails
scanned as 0.

When I select Advanced Settings, it shows POP3 Server Name as "AutoPOP3"
and the port as 10110. It also shows the server settings as "Regular".
My Seamonkey server settings show "SSL/TLS" and a port of 995 (using
Verizon FiOS as the ISP) so I may have a conflict with what Seamonkey
server settings ahow and what the default AVG uses. I will experiment.

I wonder if it was the glitch in SeaMonkey 2.0 that didn't recognize AVG

A bit off-topic here. But I desperately need your help. I've keep

frusstrates me especially when I am typing a response or report. I have

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Let me know. Thanks.

I've got AVG 8.5 Eree Edition, which I just now updated to 8.5.425.
Some time ago, when I had AVG 8.0, an incremental update put me at 8.5.
While the AVG Web site does promote AVG 9.0, it does not indicate any
termination of support for AVG 8.5. Indeed, updates to the paid edition
of AVG 8.5 are still available. When support of 8.5 does end, I would
expect an update to put me at 9.0.

Your comment about E-mail is strange. I'm using Eudora Lite 3.0.6,
which is about 12 years old. AVG 8.5 scans incoming E-mail just fine
and even adds headers to the messages to indicate that they have been
scanned.
