I forgot to mention, you should ALSO include an URL for the new window to open (syntax is in the page referred to in the previous message). Nope, still just overwrites the focused window. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

I forgot to mention, you should ALSO include an URL for the new window to open (syntax is in the page referred to in the previous message). Try it first with a lightweight page such as the basic Google page; if it works but you don't want a default page, then try using about:blank or a local HTML file. -- MCBastos This message has been protected with the 2ROT13 algorithm. Kent Briggs wrote: Leonidas Jones wrote: If the browser has focus, CTRL + N will open a new window, with no need for a separate key. I know that's not a real solution, but itsa possible workaround. The keyboard button is handy because it gives me a new window whether SeaMonkey is running or not. Or at least, it used to before 2.0. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. I had understood that if SeaMonkey 2.0 did not have focus, it worked as you wished. What I am suggesting is that if SeaMonkey does have focus, rather then having to click on your desktop, use CTRL+N to open a new window. It may not be as handy as your programmable button, but a least you don't have to reach for the mouse. Of course that won't do anything if SeaMonkey does not have focus, or is closed, but won't your button work in those cases? Again, I'm not suggesting this as a solution, just a workaround. I have a Dell keyboard that has some programmable buttons on it via registry settings. I set one to launch SeaMonkey.
