Re: Question about importing/exporting settings in Thunderbird
Hi, A simple way to back up Thunderbird settings is to do the following. I use W7 32 bit and may be slightly different in Windows or 64 bit. Shouldn't be too much different though. Go into C:\users and your account name, apps data, roaming and you will fine a large folder called Thunderbird. Copy this folder to a flash drive, plug the drive into the second computer and replace the Thunderbird folder on the second computer with the one on the flash drive. The second computer now has all the settings, folders etc like the first computer. To be on the safe side, first rename the Thunderbird folder on the second computer rather than just deleting it in case something goes wrong. Also, keep a copy of the Thunderbird folder on the flash drive as a backup. HTH Neville. On 9/08/2015 1:02 AM, Christopher-Mark Gilland via Talk wrote: Guys, I have a question. Plus, I don't want to have to get my mom again to drag my message list headers around for me, etc. So, how can I export all of my settings, so that when installing to my desktop, I don't have to go through all that crap again. Re: Question about importing/exporting settings in Thunderbird
Maybe try an add on called import export tools. Just do a search in Google hopefully you should come up with the add on try installing that. I use this add on just to back up my messages that I save in the archive folders. I have an archive folder for each of my accounts so once in a while I will back them up. Yes moz back up is another great tool to use. It works great. On 8/8/2015 3:21 PM, Joe Paton via Talk wrote: Chris, I don't know if mozbackup will do what you want. It gives you a backup and restore of your profile, mail boxes, and probably more. As for the customizing, Don't know if that comes accross or not. Could be worth a try though. Works with Thunderbird, and firefox. accessible as well. Joe On Sat, 8 Aug 2015 11:02:21 -0400 Christopher-Mark Gilland via Talk wrote: Guys, I have a question.
