Re: [Talk-GB] Hanbury Meeting - Fauld Crater
I resorted to natural=cliff on the sink hole under Eyam Edge, but there the sides were vertical. There has recently been a fair bit of discussion about extending cliff tags, and one of the cases is for non-vertical ones! There are slopes there in reality, and they are made by human activity (even if not intentionally). That does make some sort of sense - the sides (especially at the top) are quite steep. Re: [Talk-GB] Hanbury Meeting - Fauld Crater
I know that "tagging for the renderer" is not particularly helpful, however, might it be appropriate in this instance to map the significant slopes around the edges of the crater with man_made=embankment ? There are slopes there in reality, and they are made by human activity (even if not intentionally). Interesting to read about this too, I don't know about it before. The German wiki on historic items [1] uses historic=bomb_crater. They are displayed on the geschichtskarte [2] (sorry I don't know an example). They also refer to taginfo [3]. But I don't know whether the one you are referring to has historic value regards m [1] http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Historical_Objects/Karteneigenschaften#Bombenkrater [2] http://geschichtskarten.openstreetmap.de/historische_objekte/translate/en/index-en.html [3] http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/historic=bomb_crater On Sat, Jan 10, 2015 at 9:09 AM, SomeoneElse wrote: > Has anyone got a good suggestion for tagging the crater itself? > > https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/24384002 > > I removed the cemetery tag from it, because it isn't really. [Talk-GB] Hanbury Meeting - Fauld Crater
Has anyone got a good suggestion for tagging the crater itself? https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/24384002 I removed the cemetery tag from it, because it isn't really. The crater's a separate physical feature from the military exclusion zone: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/321249552 Previously it had "landuse=basin" http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:landuse=basin?uselang=en-GB but I'm not too convinced about that. Any suggestions? Cheers, Andy ___ Talk-GB mailing list Talk-GB@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb
