Virtual Folders

2008-01-20 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

I found, that my Virtual Folders lost the entries of the folders they
are applied to. Refresh only works from the context menu, ctrl+R or
ESC don't work any more. Auto-refresh doesn't work either. Only here?

invoking Quick Templates by typing the handle and hit ctrl+space seems

Move to next unread with ctrl+right broken

2008-01-20 Thread Peter Meyns
Hi all,

another thing that doesn't work with the keyboard any more: I used to
move to the next unread message with ctrl+right. Now I can't. The next
message (read or unread) is highlighted like with ctrl+leftclick.
Context menu works. I guess this is related to my previous posts. In
all cases the keyboard shortcuts are broken, and only the context menu
is usable.

(OT) Passing of Kevin Coates

Dear all,

I always exit Voyager by calling a batch file that exits Voyager and
deletes the reg entry. New entries are created whenever the spell

Yes indeed. My batch file to exit Voyager is this:

,- [ voyager_exit.bat ]
| @echo off
| Voyager\voyager.exe /exit
| regedit /S Voyager\voyager_key_ex.reg

`-

I only now realized what you meant. I hardly ever minimize Voyager to

if it is new or if I only didn't see it. When there are no unread

I haven't observed that as yet, but I'll write a couple of lines. Then
I alter some text and reformat the whole with alt+L, let's see! Ok, a
little more text is needed, maybe a colon too - here it comes: doesn't
it look cute?

PH> Alt+L should NOT alter the text at all, because it IS already left

It doesn't seem to do it here. I tried two alterations in the above

I didn't expect it to work. It is 4.0.18.4 after all. But I'm happy

I use the same filter with The Bat!. It works fine on WinXP and on

I just saw, that the filter works for new incoming messages. It is the
manual re-filtering of a folder which doesn't work.

I'm not sure if we proceeded alike. I tell you what I did in detail:

First I formatted the new USB stick to the same file system as the old
one, in my case FAT32. Then I ran volumeid.exe (available at
sysinternals.com) and set the volume ID to the same hex number that
the old stick had, in my case -. (You can see your drive's
actual volume ID by typing "vol :" at the command
prompt.) Now I copied the complete contents of the old stick to the
new one, and, voilà, Voyager ran as usual without even asking for an
activation key.

I can. :)

E-mailaholics International

E-mailaholics International is a non-registered bunch of people who
feel committed to the development of e-mail as a means of
communication. You can declare yourself a member, if you feel that you
belong there. It was first formulated by Leif Gregory and a number of
members of "The Bat! Users' Discussion List" (TBUDL). Here are the
levels of EMA as drawn up at that time.

EMA - E-mailaholic pronounced like you were going to say the word
e-mail but without the "il".., i.e., ee-ma-holics...

 The 5-level EM scale

Level 1

Are you sure that you even know what e-mail is? You probably send all
of your holiday greetings on actual paper cards. You prefer to use a
pen and paper, and think e-mail is some new-fangled doodad that
interferes with your cutesy little post-it note campaign. Your family
and friends come first in your life. You think a filter is something
that you put in a coffee machine. You think that level 4 EMs are
demented, and that level 5 EMs should be considered legally insane.

Level 2

You prefer handwritten communication over e-mail, but at least
recognize its usefulness. You have plenty of time for family and
friends. You know how to set up limited filters, but only have a
couple because you only receive a few e-mails a day.

Level 3

You are nearing the point of no return. You are but a few UDLs (User
Discussion Lists) from attaining the next level. Keep working at it.
However, be forewarned that your family may come to regard you as more
of a furniture fixture than a human. You prefer e-mail over
handwritten communications and still obtain the ability to write
legibly in cursive. You have obtained the perfect equilibrium between
family, friends, the Internet, and a real life. Your filtering
subsystem is substantial, and wows many Internet users. There are
slight butt-cheek grooves in your chair. You look up to level 4 EMs as
saints, and level 5 EMs as exotic.

Level 4

You are a shining example of EMness. Perfection is but a few e-mails
away. You can use a pen and paper in extreme emergencies, but only by
printing; cursive now eludes you. Close family members must e-mail you
to get you to come in for dinner. You vaguely remember the names of
friends who are without e-mail addresses. Your filtering subsystem is
so complex that all but the most astute of alpha-geeks will be lost in
its complexities. There are deep butt-cheek ruts in your chair.
Oftentimes, of their own volition, your fingers will move into the
position necessary to press the hotkeys for checking e-mail. People
will remember you for years to come as your posts are scattered far
and wide throughout many mailing list archives, which will be
referenced time and time again. You look upon level 5 EMs as demigods.

Level 5

You are an incorrigible and incontrovertible EM; the epitome of all
that is EMness. You are considered by aspiring EMs as the shining
light at the end of the tunnel. You are undoubtedly the reason that
your ISP has spent ungodly amounts of money to upgrade their
bandwidth. You stare in wonder at those who still possess the ability
to write with a pen. You vaguely remember the names of close family
members who are without e-mail addresses, and you refer to your
friends not by name, but by their e-mail address. Your filtering
subsystem is so advanced that it is almost self-aware. NASA scientists
plan to model their next neural net from it...Once they figure it out
that is! You have worn out a few chairs in your time. You have a
permanent disfigurement in which your fingers are fixed at the exact
width needed to push the hotkeys to check your e-mail. Be proud, you
are a leader among leaders. Never let it be said that your Internet
existence was spent in vain, as your postings are forever immortalized
in all mailing list archives around the world.

The account pane does not adjust after changing from a smaller to a
bigger screen. It only uses about three quarters and the lowest
quarter is cut out. I have to change the window-split-mode from
full-height account tree to something else and back or exit and
restart Voyager to have the account tree reach the bottom.

I'd love to test it under WinNT, I even have an installation disc for
NT 4.0. But, alas, I neither have another spare computer nor the time
to test it. So, Win2k is the oldest system I can offer (it's on my old
Dell notebook, and I believe it will stay there for the notebook's
lifetime... ;)). The Bat! runs well over there too. :)

It isn't here, at least not while in my Outbox. Let's see how it arrives on the
list.

No, I didn't use a template. I only turned on HTML for this message. I
don't usually use HTML.

Sorry I wasn't of any help... :(

Where might *that* be? Is there such a place? At the North Pole
perhaps? *shaking my head in disbelief* ;)

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all! :)

I cannot confirm. I can open Options - Preferences with WinXP SP3 on
my PC and here with Win2k SP4. I can also change and save options
without any hassle.
