Sorry for the delay in responding but, since my original plea for
help, things did deteriorate a little. It wasn't just TB! that had
lost or missing folders... other files, like Robo-Form, were also
missing. The mouse wasn't responding properly. Etc. Etc.

So ended up doing a complete disk restore from my Image program-- ack!
In any case, the restore was successful (though the most recent TB! is
not installed).

We recently moved several thousand miles and my desktop travelled here

if that had anything to do with it? It does seem that after previous
moves where the computer has been hoisted onto a truck, I have had
major problems.

Same to you! I guess I sent greetings to your other email address.

M TBUDL strips attachments, so your screenshot isn't going to show here.

Oops, forgot about that. It wasn't a pretty sight anyway. :-)

RO Folder - Browse deleted messages

This option does show the mail in the emptied folder, but I get only
one message at a time in a viewing window (as I said, there are
hundreds of emails). Is there a way to restore them all to a folder?

Also, the TBUDL AB reply template isn't working. Any ideas there?

Thanks!

Thanks Roelof. There they are. :-)

BTW I think the problem was with my keyboard, not TB!

Hi Robert,

RD I tried this, and it works. But I am not certain the modifyonce is
RD needed.
RD %MODIFYONCE(Subject)%-
RD %subject=PreFix: %osubject

Thank you! This is just what I needed, modifyonce or not :-).

I misspoke -- it *was* putting good mails into the junk folder. Thanks

So, BayseIt is definitely not working. I've tweaked the settings and
guess I'll wait for the onslaught of spam on Monday to see if that
helps.

Thanks again.

I haven't trained with ham yet, no, since it hasn't put good mails
into the junk folder either. In other words, it seems to be doing
nothing at all. As Roelof suggested, maybe I should give it a little
more time ( or should I... why not just install something that works
out of the box)?

But I will try some ham training as you suggest. Thank you so much for
your help.

RO Same happened to, I don't really know what I changed, but somehow
RO it started to work. What is the score before you move a message to
RO JUNK? Options - Preferences - Anti-Spam I've got it to be
RO triggered on 40, when BayesIt doesn't catch all of your spam, you
RO can set that lower.

I've reset that option and hope it will now work! Thanks, Roelof.

Filters, Spam and Edits

2003-08-28 Thread P . Johnson
Just in case I missed something, I'm wondering if there is a way to
edit a received message Subject. I use SpamPal and it marks suspects
with **SPAM** in the subject line. Sometimes the Bayesian filter is
incorrect (we are both still learning) but when I move a clean email
to an inbox it is forever branded SPAM.

If I alter the tagline for spam in SpamPal options, I'm not sure the
messages will be routed to the junk folder.

I realize from reading some of the archives that editing a received
message is for some reason controversial. But for cases like the one
above, or when a sender neglects to put a subject line in; or in the
message body when the formatting makes it difficult to read, it would
be a great help to be able to edit. If there is now a way to do so I
would be thrilled to learn how!

Best wishes,

Problem with Reply Template

2003-08-25 Thread P . Johnson
Hi all,

I'm having trouble with a template for Reply while in The Bat folder.
Nothing at all appears in the message section, even though the macros
are in the template (in fact I copied them from anther folder). The
template is pretty simple:

%Cursor

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

On %ODateEn, %TIME, %OFROMADDR wrote:

%Quotes

--
%DATESHORT

Any ideas why this wouldn't work in this one folder? The only
difference between this folder's templates and the one I copied it
from is that the New Message template in The Bat has a %FROM macro
(which I just picked up from the list this morning!)

Sorry if I have some of the terminology wrong. Definitely new to
macros. I'm still test-driving TB and have learned a lot from this
group.

Thanks,
