network problems

1999-12-10 Thread Randy Robinson

I tried setting up two The BaT!s as server/client, and
found that I did not want to do that. There was several
problems.

1. When messages came in, the sound played on the
SERVER and not the CLIENT!
2. Through no fault of The Bat! I could not set up the
accounts like I want them.

So, I put the server back the way it was, as a
stand-alone. But now, I open up The Bat! it
makes me login! I can't seem to get rid of this prompt.
Can someone help me with this?

Best regards,
 Randy mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Sorry, forgot to be specific. It asks me to log in to the BAT! I
have to give it my windows login and passowrd. Then it opens up.
It only started when I changed it to a server bat and then it
didn't go away when I changed it back to client.

Re: auto-format bug

We had a debate about this bug, and it seems that someone thought
this is the way things ought to work! I don't know if it was one
of the developers or just a user, but I sure don't get it. If I
hit return to put a line break in, I WANT a line break!

If you also start typing a sentence above a line of text, that
line of text will wrap up, deleting your current line break. I
think if I wanted only one line, I'd start typing on the line
where the text already exists, not on the line ABOVE it!

LEM> Yes, you do.

You've found the one thing I hate about TheBat! It's the best
program around, but I guess you can't have everything! It has a
very strange idea of what autoformatting is. I wanted
autoformatting really bad but when they came out with it, I sadly
had to turn it off. Couldn't stand the way they implemented it.

In your scenario, if you do manage to get several paragraphs
typed and indented without a line in between (manually), then
decide to change something way up there in the first paragraph,
whammo! All of your paragraphs are now one.

Where I ran into it most was in my signature, in lists (which are
impossible) and such things. My sig looks silly with a line in
between and so would a list. You can't even type ABOVE a line
without it getting sucked into your paragraph!

Best regards,

 Randy
