Bravo! JS If this is an US company, I'm pretty sure the e-mail is not in JS accordance with CAN-SPAM act, which should carry a fine should JS somebody report them. MP I've had a bit of a dig around on the FCC and FTC sites. The FCC has MP a complaints procedure but it doesn't apply to email. I was unable MP to easily locate an equivalent at the FTC, who are responsible for MP email policing. Anybody else want a try and can get me a link, I MP have no problem about reporting this spam. quote If you receive unsolicited e-mail offers or spam, you can forward the messages to the Federal Trade Commission at s...@uce.gov. /quote Source: http://www.fbi.gov/scams-safety/e-scams I have forwarded quite a number of spam messages there, but I never got a reply. List spamming (was Re: New XEROX: LOWEST COLOR cost per page in industry! Lease online today)
Dear Ian, @18-Apr-2012, 07:34 +1000 (17-Apr 22:34 here) Ian A. White [IAW] in mid:1366195036.20120418073...@wai.com.au said to Jernej: ... snip IAW Maybe the list needs IAW to have a form of validating the person posting to the list. Well, it does. People have to join and answer a confirmation email. It's a whole turnaround procedure. An email address has to be subscribed to the list to be able to post. It's good enough. Nobody is paid to moderate the list and having to moderate every message from new subscribers is not a practical solution. Given that in the 13 years we've been running the list, this is the 2nd person to be banned for spamming, do you think you may be overthinking the issue? :) -- Cheers -- Marck D Pearlstone -- List moderator and fellow end user TB! v5.1.0.3 (BETA) on Windows 7 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 ' pgp3y698vvGQq.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.2.42 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
