I'd heard of such places before, and in fact anyone who went to the NSS Convention in Indiana in 2007 attended the photo salon and banquet in such a facility. [Texascavers] Remembering Mr. Spock
When the movie, "Star Trek-the Motion Picture" was filmed, I as working for Boss Films, a special effects studio in Los Angeles. There were two days of fliming close-ups of Mr. Spock, one scene where he had bright lights flashing at this face. I had been asked if I had any large flashbulbs they could use for the shoot, and I did. It was the remenants of flashbulbs and a reflector I had dragged through some of the caves in Cuetzalan, Mexico while doing some cave photography. There was a worry that some of the bulbs could be cracked, in which case they would explode when fired, but luckily, none of them did during the several takes it took to film it.
