Did you try with 'admin' login and the password you entered on db creation
 ?

No, but that did work - thanks!

[tryton] Getting neso 2.0 to work in Ubuntu

2011-12-31 Thread Gunter Ohrner
Hi!

I'm having a hard time getting neso 2.0 to work using its Ubuntu-
packages. Unfortunately I was unable to find any documentation on how
to configure neso so it starts up, any pointers are welcome!

After invoking neso, the database selection dialog appears, showing a
create database button. After hitting it, the database creation
dialog appears and I can enter a db name and an administrator
password. I thought neso uses sqlite, does sqlite even support
password protection?

After creating the db with some arbitrary password, the dbname.sqlite
file is correctly created in ~/.neso/2.0/ . Using the sqlite command
line tool, I can access this database file just fine, without using
any username or password.

Afterwards, I'm returned to the db selection dialog. Now I can select
the newly created db there, but I'm not able to connect - the dialog
requires me to enter a username and a password, and I've no idea which
username to use.

My local linux login name does not work with the error message that
username or password may be wrong, leaving the field empty does not
even allow the dialog to be confirmed.

Thanks for any help and pointers and happy new year to everyone!

  Gunter
