[Ubnt_users] why limit the mcs rate ?

2017-07-18 Thread Jay Fuller - Cyber Broadband Inc.

We have a 2.4 network we recently acquired - in going through some of the
radios - we find several of them have
Max TX Rate locked in at MCS 1 - auto is unchecked.

I've never seen a configuration like this nor have I ever heard of it being
done.

Why would someone do this? What possible benefit could this have been?

I think it is related to interference mitigation but several of the clients I
have undone this setting on are already modulating
much better (obviously)

thoughts?

Thanks :)

What kind of real world speeds are people seeing on litebeam? How well do they

These came from the Ubquiti Beta Store. You might contact Jeff
  Broadwick at CTI about availability.

Re: [Ubnt_users] 2nd request Fwd: wifi cell phone content blocked? Access Point generates insecure warnings

2017-07-18 Thread Jan-OOLLC
On the wireless tab there is a WDS enable box. Should this box be
enabled for a typical house router/wifi/Access-Point? And would that
cause this problem if it's not enabled?

Are the 2 related? I'm getting user complaints over cell-phone wifi
content being blocked. Laptops connecting to same ubiquiti router don't
exhibit same problem. Notably facebook and twitter videos won't load
and run on cell phones/tablets, youtube seems to work. Have called the
cell phone providers and UBNT support, nothing helpful occurred.

Re: [Ubnt_users] Rocket 2AC Prism Firmware compatibility

2017-07-18 Thread Roy

Maybe UBNT could come out with 6.05. That version number was skipped.
6.05 could just be a signed version of 6.04. You could then
downgrade 6.06 to 6.05 and then to any unsigned versions

That's the way it's looking. Wasn't paying attention and thought I had

ok. Just read it correctly. Ricks right. xm firmware on any xm hardware. xw
firmware on any xw hardware. You can see what it is under the system tab where
you upload the firmware at. failsafe is it wont let you flash the wrong one on
it.
