Thanks. I guess a theme that displays only X, ^ and _ w/o a border would
be best fit.

P.S.
Where should I report the bug? In the Ubuntu Installer package?

You can add lines like these to the end of the index.theme:

ApplicationFont=sans 18
DocumentsFont=sans 18
DesktopFont=sans 18
WindowTitleFont=sans 18
MonospaceFont=monospace 18

I do *not* suggest doing this because although one font size might look good
on your desktop it definitely will not look good on all desktops. This is a bug
in the selection of the font by the installer (or whatever) and I suggest you
report it if it isn't already. On my system the fonts were larger than before,
so setting large fonts in the theme wouldn't help me at all ;)

Can be adjusted via gconf-editor or going System ->Preferences -> Appearance
and selecting the Fonts tab.

[ubuntu-art] New Wave metacity on Jaunty

2009-03-26 Thread Anton Kerezov
Hello everybody,

As I see on many screenshot the font sizes in jaunty are very small thus
making the metacity look very ugly. Does anybody knows a way to fix this?
Cory, Kenneth, anybody?

Here's a pic with bug from UbuntuForums:

I am already working in this way.
Sorry, but in these days I did not have enough time to work for it. I
can start again today.

It's a good idea and a good way. For example, I like the Elementary
Incons. They have their source. In the past I had tried to make changes
and I don't think that it's hard.
It's just an idea.

Yes, sure. Yesterday I was too drowsy. :-)

Sure, but just for the commentary. Indeed, yesterday I don't worked over it
but I have done a first draft.
Today I will work in this way.

Sorry, I didn't mean "the shadow behind the title bar", but "behind the
title of the window bar" -- no shadow behind the font thus. That's not the
same thing! Sorry for the confusion.

Also, do you think it would be possible to add a really light gradient in
the light gray part of the window? Here is what I mean:

That makes it really better, imo.

Cheers again,

That's really nice! Good job. Could you just try to remove the shadow
behind the title bar? And could you show us how the inactive windows look?
We can probably begin to think about controls. We'll have to try
different things, and I'll probably mock something up this week-end.
We can also improve the taskbar, particularly the monochromic icons --
which are already made, but I don't have them here at work.

[ubuntu-art] New Wave Metacity

2008-05-07 Thread Giuseppe Pennisi
I'm trying to make a metacity theme for New Wave Theme.

At moment it's my work:
http://img169.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newwavemetacity1cv1.png

http://img116.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newwavemetacitypressedbf1.png

http://img181.imageshack.us/my.php?image=newwavemetacity2fz2.png

As a starting point I used Human Rounded Metacity.
