Melbourne Release Party Ideas
Hello all, Just wondering does anyone have any ideas for a Melbourne Release Party, as with the Brisbane InstallFest it would have to be close to good parking (Have luck ;)) and public transport. I have thought about the State Library cafe there however I am not sure about the prices as I am yet to ring them. Everyone is able to contribute to the Jam, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to get involved. Curious about how to make a real difference to Ubuntu? This is a great chance to make that difference. The Ubuntu Australia Loco Team is organising several events [2] as part of this Global Jam. We are still looking for more people to take on running a Jam, so if you think this sounds like something you could do, please sign up on the Australian Team JamsForPrecise list. Also, we invite everyone to participate in one or many Jams over the weekend of 2-4 March. You do not need to have in depth (or in most cases, any!) technical knowledge at all - there will be an instructor for each Jam who can assist you if needed. The Ubuntu Jams are a great way to get involved in the community surrounding the Ubuntu operating system, so please join in. As I have not seen a email about May's is there anything to add to that either https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/TeamReports/11/May https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AustralianTeam/TeamReports/11/May Yours sincerely, Ben Donald-Wilson (Age 12) -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJOAbGqAAoJEM8sCcnYyN+rusIIAJUaxsqMAup423MNbrh2qr7t hwW75//Kt5SVGiQLmWXQLthd2/KuUSS0Kk4O/S7W2uSjutHN4oZf4ZkFcykazkda OooXQxkp+KIY/NCYj3B8H078LXxvrnyP8j5H84FB0p29z5PDKWk63j3d0MTq+AW3 C27LAhMnkRTFTKhVLbqlkcGL/PZ/Ip84iHDDH1836Pv7h7UDu3bfCwWQR7pj862e KrJuvtPgX936ABW9vX9AkMX6rdVAaXtBq8lnW6gkWgaLdE5BYh51xdJ+jXE7zvf7 zvioJgay+7eRpHPsQZ3xr7xKw67QpWnXdk0KOp8l8oXk/hh6YB4rwaXeQQiS5Yc= =duCV -END PGP SIGNATURE- -BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK- Version: GnuPG v2.0.17 (MingW32) mQENBE4AOiEBCAC28WIDw/LuYN77y4fsRLm4C2AewRWgo1DlYRoOrdUOEAD0fItB oh882ayc5tAVmX4iiFOm5JQL9+58uPO6wb3d3iAdIjL4/IqteMo8Q1d01018n0bH DKdlLWPKZ4pBeDHnmqGbtw3OS6GVdTVXU7pn2fbn5K5x7AS86ta43lRfOLHP5Qac ZVJ+TASBAZivlL1K6ItAVR0E9btFgx5F2uKbylpAQHp6cencG5T/y29GfOLHuEla cDurrI/qvAaX+jGcOpt8370XiBkDwrE2PAWaZJs3PcuFrok/edD5KLtHizQJlhvE rUaeaBMDs05UZ9sN1XrW1+EU1QuqntSrVFCjABEBAAG0MEJlbmphbWluIERvbmFs ZC1XaWxzb24gPGJlbm9uc29mdHdhcmVAZ21haWwuY29tPokBOAQTAQIAIgUCTgA6 IQIbAwYLCQgHAwIGFQgCCQoLBBYCAwECHgECF4AACgkQzywJydjI36vFcAf+LsSZ lF4ywmtS0dKvtt+yE5LnZvepaNKonV0g/306ZQqlNmciKhwkn4lwQ2LzWrefjwi6 ncDJENkkcv1nTgSi7aVXrKGpsA95MYN0l1lvVIhbFdGjRQ1L3o248e3aNZEXW70J jNLlQvlkNNNZULunr1/KnPu1+Fb83ulD7zELQFbVTaSy8qbGxlr72otPj4lyqYdX c8qKz4iq1t9zqKqT8Y7sOWxXXtKtXlmT4z0eUV6Afmrfc85LHwHTt/tfUMakn9Fd yOBkDs32SwC0fEVZR5Mty1er5b6JXmsEbkSPcddwyh2Vf3YstL5j/58Yu1SLO0wc p31pQzoBZoD+fbfY9LkBDQROADohAQgAytPcKIyXTLUQbZkHIMpsw+HozNMP04jJ auqjGrmLcpOnznGNzZtRm69LjOTg1SaasAe4a2QdZnjrdCRGV18R0xC8A8JyA9VU hEnLDR79MOH72THX8aUWRMyhtYxX4XZPHUDYfjCbUV6n4/XhmjiJz+Fh2twekgyo 5VS54M22JemifbKwaX4FoGM+JANOCShSW3Mhox7Gkcl7rmnmpaLfmSiJpHW9Pyb2 kaJdZ8yyHBMqiQj/+00iYvLfSzZrPI7u1cZcdarp7vAk/khhhE21Rckol6eLzpTv CR7aSn0UH18JAEMMBjx0wx1s+IoJadBeKX4z4Z0nm1buoKtwzl2w1QARAQABiQEf BBgBAgAJBQJOADohAhsMAAoJEM8sCcnYyN+r86AH/1AX0c9I7GtxvX0QNBSF0Kka 5GNVV5EbyUmatmBMqMydok8Ng7wmgrGJJr+X56awN6U9MwlBQTD/9ZcEtkOvrXSu qR/J2M2RSWqMpRlNbrlykS4QCEF4h0pKD1uTFtUSnWJQ0rzLT35RTKHNGKKOE1g7 0T/Bjz/++RqghtPPZlry8XlGK8ugHKPQhujZvtMu1+wS5yFdI32W30jnZLXyjsX9 1C3R3dMgiL9jcOpQEXG7eMIxCcU27mkdmdQG5dtBCkSC7wLwLSdqBWy3r4ZzZKf8 YSXzUdcoI/pDem4fpgpPnBvFemIQ7D4zCw6B+OrOvgI2mtypsvaONviMMRvecv8= =J24d -END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK- -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
Re: Ubuntu-AU Social Media
Hi all, I was wondering if you need anyone helping admin the Twitter account I'll put my hand up for that. Benny, On Sun, Jun 12, 2011 at 11:25 PM, Jared Norris jrnor...@gmail.com wrote: Good evening all, As discussed tonight at the meeting we're moving ahead with the social media for Ubuntu-AU. It has been requested so that it is easier to keep up to date with the team happenings than email alone. The results of mailing list and the meeting discussion are as follows: Facebook - stick to the group setting and we have Joel Addison volunteering to work out how to input an Ical feed into the group page as events. And as such I have added Joel to administer the facebook account to facilitate this for us as automating it is vital to maintaining the same information across multiple sources with minimal input. Twitter - we have set up an account https://twitter.com/#!/UbuntuAU Identica - I realise we already have a group for this but from discussions we've decided it would be better to set up an individual account as this will allow posting from the account to all followers which apparently isn't possible from a group. It will also tie in nicely with the twitter account and as such is available at http://identi.ca/ubuntuau I have had this account join the group that already existed to see if this reduces confusion and it has integrated to the twitter api. The idea of these groups is not to continually spam members but to provide relevant loco information. For example reminders about upcoming events, meetings and anything specifically loco related. If you have information that you think should be sent out over these channels please feel free to contact me via email or on IRC. As always if anyone has any suggestions for improvement please let us know. Australian LoCo Re-Approval Application
Hi all, I was wondering about the Australian LoCo Re-Approval Application has it been granted? I think we have compiled with the request's so could we ask for status again to become one more a official LoCo team? Re: 10.04 and USB 3.0
Well then at the very least use ext4. It is the best so far. Ben. On Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 12:22, Chris Robinson fabricat...@yahoo.com wrote: -- -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
Re: 10.04 and USB 3.0
Yes from what I know from it should work. What format are you using for your drive? === Benjamin Donald-Wilson (Age 12) == On Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 19:20, David ag...@justemail.net wrote: Hi folks and thanks for the responses to my earlier questions about PDFs. Now that I assume updates will soon no longer be given for 8.04, I am planning to install 10.04 LTS, and to get a card installed in my existing computer so that it's USB 3.0 compatible, and to get a USB 3.0 external HDD. Does 10.04 work automatically (high speed) with USB 3.0? Re: 10.04 and USB 3.0
Hi Dave, I would use the exFAT format because by the sounds of it your using it on Win 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. The exFAT format supports Win 7 and with the ppa:relan/exfat ppa in Ubuntu you can read write to a exFAT format. Just to let you know you need to format the drive in Win 7 for exFAT as the ppa does not support formating yet. == Ben Donald-Wilson (Age 12) == On Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 08:30, David ag...@justemail.net wrote: and thanks IK -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
