Re: TV Tuner card for Ubuntu 9.04 amd64
Barry I am really struggling to get my DVICO HYBRID card to work I will have a look at that forum, I would love to know how you did it! I am pretty sure the drivers are not right because I get an error message in dmesg output that the subsystem ID was not detected $ dmesg [abridged] [ 11.390599] cx88[0]: Your board has no valid PCI Subsystem ID and thus can't [ 11.390602] cx88[0]: be autodetected. Please pass card= insmod option to [ 11.390603] cx88[0]: workaround that. Redirect complaints to the vendor of [ 11.390604] cx88[0]: the TV card. Re: TV Tuner card for Ubuntu 9.04 amd64
Thanks so the dvico dual 4's work a treat eh, is that the same for the PCIe and PCI? I know one is meant to be faster though can any real time benefit be seen. Thanks guys and girls any other tried and tested as MSY is nearly always out of stock On Aug 26, 10:03 pm, Barry Williams wrote: > I have two Dvico dual 4's for 4 tuners that multiplex so I can in fact > record 8 channels if 4 of them are on the same multiplex. I have two Dvico dual 4's for 4 tuners that multiplex so I can in fact record 8 channels if 4 of them are on the same multiplex. They work great however unfortunately I think you still need to drop in some firmware but I think they are now supported in the kernel even the rev2's. Even if they are not compiling the drivers are straight forward. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=616103 -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
Re: TV Tuner card for Ubuntu 9.04 amd64
Howdy, The Asus U3100 USB tuners work great under Ubuntu, and with MythTV. They're able to do full 1080P HDTV too! aviper4u wrote: > Hi, > > Want to use a TV Tuner card with Ubuntu, apparently this is no problem > with MythTV though on the following page > > http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Supported_Hardware > > The guide talks about plugging in the card then running commands to > see if it compatible? > > I want to know if it compatible before i purchase it :) Is there any > other avenues i can pursue? > > Thanks > > > -- ubuntu-au mailing list ubuntu-au@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-au
Re: TV Tuner card for Ubuntu 9.04 amd64
Hi... I use a Pinnacle 72e (DiB7000) and this works out of the box from ubuntu intrepid (8.10) onwards... any earlier then you need to apply kernel patches etc... This is however (72e) only a single channel receiver and it might be wise (I wasn't!) to get a dual channel receiver then you can watch & record at the same time!... TV Tuner card for Ubuntu 9.04 amd64
Hi, Want to use a TV Tuner card with Ubuntu, apparently this is no problem with MythTV though on the following page http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Supported_Hardware The guide talks about plugging in the card then running commands to see if it compatible? I want to know if it compatible before i purchase it :) Is there any other avenues i can pursue?
