[Bug 1243428] Re: OpenShot don't work in Ubuntu13.10 (Run normally in 13.04)

2014-02-15 Thread Cenwen

Bonne continuation.

Re: [Openshot.developers] [Bug 1247522] [NEW] Ubuntu 13.10, after upgrade Openshot exits suddenly on Export to Youtube HD

2013-11-05 Thread Cenwen
I don't know Lightwave NLE. What is it ?
I don't think so. If you have follow the thread, normally, you have pass to
the fork avconv/libav at the true and unique FFmpeg. Libav is (according to
the FFmpeg mailing list) full of bugs.

2013/11/5 teledyn 1247...@bugs.launchpad.net

updates to the libav packages were released today and appear to have solved
the problems, I am now able to export video in both YoutubeHD and FlickrHD

I also uninstalled the Lightwave NLE and that may have been a potential
 conflict as well.

[Bug 752674] Re: GtkRecentChooserMenu always selects first entry

2013-09-10 Thread Cenwen
This bug seems to come from Ubuntu/Unity. For sample, you are not
affected when you are using Linux Mint. Anyway, for the next big version
(a bug correction 1.4.4 will be out soon) we are going to switch from
GTK to Qt. So you shouldn' t have it again.

[Bug 1181226] Re: working with files longer than 42 minutes

2013-05-17 Thread Cenwen
I've been surprised to not be able to find the corresponding bug (he sould be
opened since the time) because it is an old bug linked Pygoocanvas and GTK. As
anyone want to resolve it (they send them the ball), we have try a new and
powerfull solution using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and Webkit. At we are working
this time on it and this will come with the 2.0.0 planned for the end of the
year.
Thanks.

Re: [Openshot.developers] [Bug 1130920] Re: audio glitches when trying to play

2013-03-04 Thread Cenwen
Perfect. Nice to hear that.

2013/3/2 relgames 1130...@bugs.launchpad.net

Sorry for misunderstanding, I thought that question was about Ubuntu
installation. Openshot was installed from Ubuntu repos, not from usb
 stick.

Anyway, I managed to solve the problem. It was because of melt/libmlt, I
had the same issue in kdenlive.
melt was unable to correctly process Audio: pcm_u8, 11024 Hz, 1 channels,
 u8, 88 kb/s audio format.
I converted the sound stream for all videos it to pcm_s16le, 22050 Hz, 1
channels, s16, 352 kb/s and glitches are gone!

Re: [Openshot.developers] [Bug 1130920] Re: audio glitches when trying to play

2013-02-26 Thread Cenwen
You should try because, If my memory is still good, you are running
Openshot on usb key. To my mind, you should do a go on a virtualbox. You
don't use a LInux system in hard ?

2013/2/25 relgames 1130...@bugs.launchpad.net

I was able to reproduce it on a different machine with Ubuntu 12.04

First, I tried to install openshot from repositories.
It was openshot 1.4.0-1ubuntu1, and mlt:
 $ dpkg -l |grep mlt
 ii  libmlt++3  0.7.6+git20120204-2
MLT multimedia framework C++ wrapper (runtime)
 ii libmlt-data0.7.6+git20120204-2
  multimedia framework (data)
 ii libmlt40.7.6+git20120204-2
  multimedia framework (runtime)
 ii python-mlt30.7.6+git20120204-2
  multimedia framework (python bindings)

Then added MLT and openshot PPAs, now versions are:
 $ dpkg -l |grep mlt
 ii  libmlt++3  0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1
MLT multimedia framework C++ wrapper (runtime)
 ii libmlt-data0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1
  multimedia framework (data)
 rc libmlt40.7.6+git20120204-2
  multimedia framework (runtime)
 ii libmlt50.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1
  multimedia framework (runtime)
 ii python-mlt50.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1
  multimedia framework (python bindings)
 $ dpkg -l |grep openshot
 ii openshot 1.4.3-1
Create and edit videos and movies

And bug exists! I hear audio glitches again! What I did I just created a
new project, then added my AVI file, cut it into 2 pieces, and then put
second piece onto the second track and slightly overlapped 2 tracks.
Then clicked Play - and audio glitches were here!

If it still doesn't help, will it help if I try to create a VirtualBox
virtual machine, reproduce the issue, take a snapshot and place it
 somewhere?

2013-02-24 Thread Cenwen
BTW this is strange, FAQ says about libmlt4 while I have libmlt5.

Sounds agree. I have the modification.

First tests. BTW you have my actual dependencies in the model of bug
report. :-)
I play the file in an existing project (from me). No problem.
I export fine.

Second test with a new projet in PAL according the informations of your
file.

olivier@multimedia:~/Téléchargements/openshot-bug/Video$ tcprobe -H 10 -X
-i DSCF8525.AVI
* container:
format: RIFF data, AVI video
source: 'DSCF8525.AVI'
frames: 330
  duration: 0:00:10.999
 SCR reset: 1
* video track #0:
format: mjpeg
frame size: 640x480
  aspect ratio: 4:3 (asr=2)
frame rate: 30.000 (frc=5)
   bitrate: 0 kbps
  starting PTS: 0.
frame time: 33 ms
* audio track #0:
  track id: 0
format: 0x1
  channels: 1
   sample rate: 11024 Hz
   bits for sample: 8
   bitrate: 88 kbps
  starting PTS: 0.
 A/V sync hint: 0 frames/0 ms
 subtitles: no
olivier@multimedia:~/Téléchargements/openshot-bug/Video$

Play and export without any issues.

Last test with your .osp project

Same result when I play and I export.

I must said that I don't know what tell you.
All is working fine for me.

 Thanks for your answer!

Actually, I did provided information about mlt, dependencies.txt contains
 that info:
 libmlt++3 0.8.0-4
 libmlt-data 0.8.0-4
 libmlt5 0.8.0-4

Then I installed latest MLT libs, but the bug is still here.
 ii  libmlt++3
 0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~quantal1 i386 MLT
 multimedia framework C++ wrapper (runtime)
 ii libmlt-data
 0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~quantal1 all multimedia

 framework (runtime)
 ii python-mlt5
 0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~quantal1 i386 multimedia
 framework (python bindings)

BTW this is strange, FAQ says about libmlt4 while I have libmlt5.

Hum, I am using currently the last version of MLT unstable i.e. 0.8.1 on
precise 12.04 without any problem. And it is without guarantee that your audio
sync will be resolved. I have more hopes in our library.
Here the screenshot of my dependencies if it can help you.

[Bug 1016209] Re: Audio sync / rendering issues on Ubuntu 12.04

2012-08-19 Thread Cenwen
Hi,
Effectively, this issue comes from MLT. The only solution that we have for the
moment is to upgrade this one. And we are not lucky because the official
version in Ubuntu (0.7.4 or 0.7.6, I don't remember exactly) is full of bugs.
What is your version of MLT ?
The only solution is to update this one following this FAQ :
https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861
Good Luck waiting our own library.

2012-08-18 Thread Cenwen
Hi,
It looks more a bug of GTK 2/3 on an LiveCD that Openshot himself even I find
the version of OS and MLT pretty old.
We are using the 1.4.2 (stable) and 1.4.3 (development) with MLT in 0.8.1.
Here you are using the 1.4.0 and 0.7.4 (for MLT).

[Bug 970901] Re: Update MLT version in 12.04 repo. Unstable, outdated, and unreleased version breaks related programs like Kdenlive.

2012-05-18 Thread Cenwen
On Ubuntu, and it is for all version of this one, only the version of Kdenlive
is working great with Openshot. Here, you can use the both together.
If you want to use the last version of Kdenlive, you must only use it alone or
with AV Linux (the next 6.0 will be out in June) and you'll have too Cinellera
and Lives.

Hi,
I took a quick look at the API and I 've seen that they are using the
GIntrospection object. So it will be possible only when well move on the GTK3
port. In fact, this version is already done (and updated recently with the
1.4.2) but she is blocked because of a function missing. And she needs to have
an update of the CAiro API (Goocanvas) too. For the moment, this one is always

[Bug 927755] Re: Dragging video to timeline eats RAM

2012-02-07 Thread Cenwen
Try to test with the last version of MLT (0.7.7)
See here how to get the last : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861

libavcodec53 4:0.8-1ubuntu2~ppa~precise4
libavdevice53 4:0.8-1ubuntu2~ppa~precise4
libavformat53 4:0.8-1ubuntu2~ppa~precise4
libavutil51 4:0.8-1ubuntu2~ppa~precise4

It seems to be an 'old ' version of FFmpeg, try to add this PPA :
https://launchpad.net/~jon-severinsson/+archive/ffmpeg
The last version out of FFmpeg is the 0.10

However, there aren't the only to be old : even goocanvas seems to be a old
version and can explain to this issue
libgoocanvas-common 0.15-1
libgoocanvas3 0.15-1
python-pygoocanvas 0.14.1-1ubuntu6
The last is the 2.05 (if my memory is yet good).

[Bug 879507] Re: DVD exporting stopped working after upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10.

2012-01-29 Thread Cenwen
Like I explained before, the solution is to upgrade with the last version of
MLT.
See here :
https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1859
https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861

For the problem of RAM and SWAP, it will be resolved with our own
library called libopenshot, one which one we are working since several
mouths. When she will be ready, Openshot will have a new and powerful
development.

[Bug 920101] Re: openshot crashed with SIGSEGV in mlt_properties_find()

2012-01-24 Thread Cenwen
Hi,

Thanks to report this bug.
To my mind, this bug concerns MLT Team and not Openshot himself.
And I'll said more that seems to be a problem in MLT with libavcodec53, part of
ffmpeg which ignored by MLT, probably thanks to your version of ffmpeg (0.8.0).
So, I'm going to tag it like won't fix.

[Bug 574870] Re: Need ability to extract videos from AVCHD camcorders with metadata

2012-01-07 Thread Cenwen
Hi all,

If a software can rip a bluray disc, it should be able to rip the
media from an AVCHD camera as well (together with the metadata), since
they both use the same format.

To my knowledges, there are none software under GNU/Linux which can rip a
blu-ray disk (without using Wine and derivative GUI).
And more generally, The AVCHD format is not well supported on our system.
Saying that, I'm thinking at this problem and another one when you want to
create an authoring Blu-ray disk.

I'm wondering me if something could be done to the Kernel side ? =udev
Cies No?
In fact, if the size file was not cutting, it will be more easy for users and
...developers too.
And the other question which comes is that if his files are not cutting,
metadata are they always present ?

Mine is a sony so it isn't quite identical, but could the few
differences mess it up? Which folder was u supposed to use the script
on? I tried all the ones that made sense to

A good start could be to have a base of all the structure available of
all marks Camecorders and like this, see if there are some differences.
Another thing could be to have a rush of each structure/camecorders that
everybody could use for studying and testing and like this see if
something could be implemented.

For sample, I have not (yet) a AVCHD Camecorder (=I am yet in DV
Camecorder) and it will be difficult to implement something if we can
even not test them.

We'll study your work and We'll speak soon between us of that and I'll
give you more information about this subject soon. So it is the reason
what I put it now in our wishlist.

In this case, I am thinking that you have only like solution to .wait an
update of MLT.
Today, I've just finished an update of MLT and he is now in the version 0.7.7.
You should check until this bug (and some others) will be resolved. I 've seen
too that a new correction bug's version of Kdenlive will be out quickly and I
am sure that this regressions bugs are not strange to this situation that we
know currently.

Hi,

You should first update to the stable release and secondary activate

I f you are not sure to do that, you could run openshot in a console and
put here the result and if you are an expert, using gdb which tell us

[Bug 842987] Re: New Driver JuJu for the Firewire support doesn't work

2011-09-08 Thread Cenwen
Hi,
LIke this is a module of the kernel and not a stand-alone application, it is
impossible to use apport-collect in this condition. At least that I am not
doing that.

[Bug 842987] [NEW] New Driver JuJu for the Firewire support doesn't work

2011-09-06 Thread Cenwen
Public bug reported:

Hi all,

I hope that this bug won't be already opened. I concern the support of
the Firewire. Until, Lucid it was working okay and it was the 'old'
driver i.e dv1394 and raw1394 modules.

They have been replaced by the new driver named JuJu (like you can see
the specification here :
https://ieee1394.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Juju_Migration) partielly on
Marverick and totally on Natty and following.

But this module doesn't work. I tested it on three computers on three Ubuntu
11.04 (two Natty and one Kubuntu) all in 64 bits.
Strangely, when I look if the module fireware is loaded, it seems to miss one
module. Anyway, there are none repertory fw* and following
See what I obtain in console :
olivier@navi:~$ lsmod | grep firewire
firewire_ohci 40370 0
firewire_core 62646 1 firewire_ohci
crc_itu_t 12707 1 firewire_core

I have too an AV LInux 5.0 (derivated multimedia Debian) on the same computer
which have too this new driver and I have been surprised that the firewire
support was working out-of-box. You can see on the above command a different
result.
I put you too a part of the output of Dmesg on this multimedia computer, the
same command on the AV Linux 5.0 and my camcorder is working with Dvgrab.

[Bug 820004] Re: openshot crashed with SIGSEGV in mlt_properties_get_position()

2011-08-02 Thread Cenwen
Hi,
I have not checked all the files attached with but have you use a 2D or 3D
software before run Openshot and have this crash ?
I obtain the same result on a Natty only after working a lot of time on an 2D
software (i.e The Gimp, Inkscape) or an 3D software (i.e Blender). It is an
hardware problem i.e. too much memories utilisation.

[Bug 682504] Re: package openshot-doc (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/gnome/help/openshot/C/openshot.xml', which is also in package openshot-docs 2.0.1-4

2010-11-30 Thread cenwen
Hi,
I don't know if it is a fresh installation (Marverick) or an upgrade (Lucid
=Marverick) but if it is an upgrade i have certainly the solution.
When we have created the manual we have used the Gnome denomination (i.e.
2.0.1-4) and when Openshot has been accepted by Debian and Ubuntu, we have must
modified it. And the two versions are incompatible between them.
So, you must remove (and with the purge option) the old version who is present
in your system and install the new by the same command i.e. sudo apt-get
install openshot-doc.

2010-09-24 Thread cenwen
hi,
Thanks for a report bug so detailed !
In fact, it is because you were on karmic and you have done an update on Lucid.
When we have done the manual, we have put a bad numerotaion (in fact it was in
accord with Gnome numerotation but not with Debian/Ubuntu numerotation. And
when we have seen that we have changed for the distributon numerotation instead
of the environnement.
For resolving your problem, you must remove your first version of openshot-doc
and after, done a clean installation of the same package but now it will have
none conflict.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 449250 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/449250

Hi,
If i see what you do (and the information), this codec is not recognize totally
by ffmpeg.
On another hand, there is a problem with the version of RecordMydesktop (and
his gui gtk and qt) who is in Lucid ( i think that i have found this
information on Webup8 but not sure).
Try this command :
tcprobe -i out-1.ogv
And when i see the video, it seems to be a problem with MLT.
Globally, i will said that there is two problems with this video : one when she
has been record (try a another ogv file but not record with GTK-recordmydesktop
) and the second is that MLT not recognize the video. Some people have some
problems with the 0.54 (and the 0.52 of course because the first modify a
display bug of the second). And i have some positive feedback with the last
version 0.5.5 from people who have this sort of problems. But you must compile
it.

2010-03-11 Thread cenwen
Thanks for this bug report. In fact, we have changed the appelation of the
documentation to be conform with the Debian rules. And it seems to have a
incompatibility with the two versions of the same xml file. So the solution is
to remove the both packages and reinstall the good : openshot-doc
1.1.0~alpha2-Oubuntu1
Sorry for this issue.

OK thanks i understand well, certainly it will help another personn with
this type of problems.

I think, libmlt++ should be repackaged to include libmlt++.so, and
 libmlt++.so.2.
Probably, these should be symbolic links to the actual .so file
 (libmlt++.so.0.4.10).

... And the python-mlt should be linked to libmlt++.so

[Bug 459940] Re: A few Gnome applications do not start (Could not load classifier cascade)

2010-01-06 Thread cenwen
It seems to be a problem with a librairie of freiOr-plugins
(/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstfrei0r.so) and Gstreamer. So it's not a problem
of Openshot.
Good luck

For me, OpenShot could be the video editor by default in Lucid Lynx because he
is better than Pitivi and it's a living project.
