[Bug 300693] Re: Thinkpad T61p hardlock flashing caps lock
I have a Asus M3A78-T mobo. A PNY Nvidia gts 250 pci express card. A Phenom 9650. 8 gigs OCZ ram. Albeit the system is stable when not pushed to the limit, I have been configuring compiz with a vnc connection on one viewport, a virtual machine on another viewport, mythtv on another viewport, and a complete webserver running in a headless virtual machine. The system hard locks when the Win XP guest, the vnc connection, and mythtv are open. If none are open the system is stable. A screenshot of the window managers configuration is attached; it will hardlock with the caps lock flashing inevitably. I think it had to do with compiz. I tried building custom kernels. I stripped everything out of the kernel except what was needed and the system still hard locked. I tried disabling one customization at a time. I though it the firewire stack at one point, but I reconfigured that in various kernel builds, but no resolution was achieved. I tried using the default nvidia driver in the repos, but notices no difference in stability versus the up-to-date binaries. There is absolutely nothing in any log file. A remote ssh connection reveals nothing. Memory checks out. Hard disks check out. Processor checks out. Video card checks out. This is clearly software related because the system boot fine with nothing in the logs. My nose points towards compiz, and or its interaction with the X server. ** Attachment added: "hardlock.jpg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29879204/hardlock.jpg -- Thinkpad T61p hardlock flashing caps lock https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We are now 4 months later, after I sent a warning about this package. Jaunty is still using version 2.5-1 that is saving backups of the server's databases world readable. But I need to keep my existing raid and lvm setup. After selecting "Specify partitions manually," the "Prepare Partitions" screen does not recognize my raid1 and lvm partitions. [Bug 408733] [NEW] cdbs-edit-patch with an uppercase name doesn't apply debian/patches
Public bug reported: When I run `cdbs-edit-patch SftpCrashFix` on a fresh `apt-get source nautilus-open-terminal` I was not viewing the source (`nano src /nautilus-open-terminal.c`) with the debian/patches applied in the spawned terminal. This caused me to have a lot of headache with others who where stepping me through the process of making my first patch in the debian build system, and most of them still think I am crazy. Others where able to get it to work, by using `cdbs-edit-patch test` or similar, but the key to this bug appears to be that if the patch name passed to cdbs-edit-patch is not lowercase it doesn't apply the debian/patches. To reproduce try this: $ apt-get source nautilus-open-terminal $ cd nautilus-open-terminal* $ cdbs-edit-patch BadPatchName spawned $ nano src/nautilus-open-terminal.c And notice that the #include isn't there, meaning the gio patch (debian/patches) hasn't been applied. [Bug 408733] Re: cdbs-edit-patch with an uppercase name doesn't apply debian/patches
In the man page it explains that: When patchname does not exist, cdbs-edit-patch will assume that a new patch should be created. As with the above scenario, cdbs-edit-patch will first create a temporary working source tree and apply all patches up to the new patch in lexicographic order. [Bug 281131] Re: Signatures, When I have made a signature in HTML format and I save it. the next time that I used again I have the hole html format aroud mij signature. It changed completly.
Hi all, I have the same problem. Actually, Evolution does not save properly the signature type in gconf database. If you create an HTML signature using Evolution preferences, the signature will be correctly rendered in any new mail until you restart Evolution. After the restart, the signature is considered as plain text and the HTML code appears. A workaround is to launch gconf-editor and then modify the key /apps/evolution/mail/signatures (which contains the list of signatures used by evolution) the following way : 1. Find the problematic signature in the list. 2. Change "format" attribut of tag "signature" from "text/plain" to "text/html". Note: If you modify the signature afterwards using Evolution preferences, the signature type will stay text/html. -- Signatures, When I have made a signature in HTML format and I save it. the next time that I used again I have the hole html format aroud mij signature. I think the reason why enigmail wasnt updated is that the current packaging approach is quite hacky due to multiple reasons. You can always go to developer page and use non-packaged installation of programs and install on your Linux system. (like you were quoting windblows solution). But on GNU/Linux you have another option, too: Packaging and repositories gives you benefit that you don`t need to do search>download>install on all of your 1000`s machines, but they do it alone, quietly and if package is updated in repository it is updated on ALL machines in the whole world, running that repo/package repository.
