[Bug 1155205] Re: FFE Request for Upstart in raring
I think on balance it's probably better to keep it off by default for Raring. It's easy for people to turn it on if they want it to test and/or develop user jobs. Seems like an ideal thing to enable right away in S-cycle. The rest is fine IMO. I'm happy to approve that as long as we keep an eye on stability and execute the reversion plans swiftly if necessary. ** Changed in: upstart (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1155205 Title: FFE Request for Upstart in raring To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/upstart/+bug/1155205/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1155501/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected quantal running-unity ** Description changed: I had Ubuntu 12.04 installed and running on a Dell E6520 for six months without a single issue. I recently purchased a Dell E6530 and traded hard drives. I have had no issues while plugged into AC power, but frequently when I run on batteries the laptop would completely freeze. Only the power key would respond with a complete power off. Most of time it happens while running either Chome or Firefox, but it has happened when neither of them were running. I cannot find any pattern as to when the freeze will occur. Sometimes it runs for 30 minutes and then the next time it will freeze within a minute of logging in. - I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) on this same machine and - the freezes still occur.I have not had a single freeze while on AC - power. + I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) on this same machine and the freezes still occur.I have not had a single freeze while on AC power. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu10 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC1: bdealey2574 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: bdealey2574 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: bdealey2574 F...m pulseaudio + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=54f8bbd3-b903-4141-ae66-05d5e3424b43 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-03-08 (6 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release amd64 (20130213) + MachineType: Dell Inc. [Bug 930447] Re: Unable to start Ubuntu 12.04 live CD with syslinux loader on Pentium M x86 Laptop due to bug in PAE kernel, initramfs or syslinux
Remember, this is not a problem with ubuntu, but with syslinux. The penitum-M works just fine with a PAE kernel. Syslinux checks for the pae flag in the CPU (it does lack that) and thus fails to boot. Hence why you can use grub instead of syslinux to boot and install it just fine (i wrote about it above somewhere). You could of course remove the check in syslinux (there's a bug report attached to this for that) and use that instead, but using grub (on a USB stick anyway) is just really easy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930447 Title: Unable to start Ubuntu 12.04 live CD with syslinux loader on Pentium M x86 Laptop due to bug in PAE kernel, initramfs or syslinux To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/930447/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1155616] [NEW] major stability issues with vnc protocol and rdp
Public bug reported: I know my report might not be very specific but somehow I do not know any further but to claim something. Somehow remmina is very unstable in general. It very often hangs and I have to force quit the beast. As soon as the connection to a host becomes unstable or simply gets interrupted the whole remmina gets stocked and does not react any more. I understand that remmina is only a wrapper for a lot of remote libraries but if the libraries fail I expect that remmina can handle this. Further more I have the feeling that it got worse in the last half a year. I sent numerous crash reports already. In short I can see following issues: - sensitivity against network problems - freeze when a lot of data is updated, more often in faster networks - freeze when mouse wheel scrolling is used extensive - black screen when opening: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/1004197 I am wondering if all this is a remmina issue or a underlying protocol isssue (VNC in my case). But as I stated above at least remmina should be able to catch this. It is sad to have to say this, but it looks like remmina has some major problems. [Bug 1155208] Re: checkbox-qt Input Test doesn't work in kubuntu
Hi Philip, This would be the case, as these tests are implemented using Gtk. Checkbox is developed purely on Ubuntu so we depend on the Kubuntu community to point these issues out to us. [Bug 1152187] Re: [MIR] systemd
systemd with enabled make check tests is in raring now. I had to disable the unit-name test as it fails on the buildds (presumably they don't have a /etc/hostname), the other 25 succeed now. I also wrote autopkgtests for the three D-BUS services hostnamed, localed, and timezoned, and fixed localed to actually work: https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/view/Raring/view/AutoPkgTest/job/raring-adt-systemd/ I wrote an autopkgtest for logind as well (not uploaded yet), but due to the nature of our jenkins server (where the test doesn't actually get a seat) this works only locally. Its still useful for regression testing, though, it discovered that logind doesn't apply ACLs for hotplugged devices properly. I added a work item for this to the BP. ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Michael Terry (mterry) ** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1152187 Title: [MIR] systemd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1152187/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1044055] Re: online-accounts does not allow a way to disable a particular application
Requesting for a FFe. This fix adds enable/disable toggles next to each application line in the account editing page. This allows user to enable/disable specific applications using a certain online account. The importance of this feature has been highlighted in the previous comments and in the duplicated bug reports. This feature has been ready for some time already, but somehow we forgot to upload it to Raring. We have been testing this feature for a few weeks now, without discovering regressions. Since Quantal, we got also these changes (all of which are bugfixes which didn't alter the functionality): = gnome-control-center-signon (0.1.3-0ubuntu1) UNRELEASED; urgency=low [ Didier Roche ] * Automatic snapshot from revision 124 (bootstrap) * modernize build to confirm to other packages we have [ Rico Tzschichholz ] * Fix dev-package dependencies -- Didier Roche didro...@ubuntu.com Thu, 13 Dec 2012 18:34:12 +0100 gnome-control-center-signon (0.1.2bzr12.12.05-0ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low [ Robert Bruce Park ] * Inlined packaging data. * -debian/patches/fix_exec_path.patch [ Ken VanDine ] * New upstream snapshot - Add LXDE to control-center panel desktop file (LP: #1070546) -- Ken VanDine ken.vand...@canonical.com Wed, 05 Dec 2012 10:48:53 -0500 gnome-control-center-signon (0.1.1-0ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low * New upstream release. - Containers for account toggle switch and list header are rendered poorly in themes other than Ambiance / Radiance (LP: #1040186) - Control center panel should be optional (LP: #1070729) - List corners are square for Add account rounded otherwise (LP: #1043714) - Grey box around Show accounts that integrate... is noise (LP: #1043729) - Remove account button should be title case (LP: #1059376) * -debian/patches/revert_string_change.patch * debian/patches/fix_exec_path.patch - fixed path in dbus service file * debian/control, debian/rules - added autoreconf -- Ken VanDine ken.vand...@canonical.com Tue, 13 Nov 2012 15:36:09 -0500 gnome-control-center-signon (0.0.20-0ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low * New upstream release. - Fix the passing of cookies to signon-ui (LP: #1066917) * debian/control - removed unneeded build depends for libdbus-glib-1-dev - build depend on libsignon-glib-dev = 1.7 to get fix for (LP: #1066917) -- Ken VanDine ken.vand...@canonical.com Thu, 08 Nov 2012 12:43:17 -0500 = -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1044055 Title: online-accounts does not allow a way to disable a particular application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-control-center-signon/+bug/1044055/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 1055238] Re: PCI/internal sound card not detected on Toshiba P855-S5200 Laptop
If you upgrade your BIOS to 6.60 while in Windows, it worked for me for a little while on 13.04, but then I switched to UEFI booting and it stopped. I can get headphones and audio jack devices to work, but the speakers won't. I can get newer versions of alsa-hda-dkms to install (alsa-hda- dkms_0.201303141419~quantal1_all.deb), but I can't get the sound to work still. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1055238 Title: PCI/internal sound card not detected on Toshiba P855-S5200 Laptop Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: It used to work, but now with the 3.5.0 kernel, alsa-hda-dkms won't install Ubuntu Quantal 12.10 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-15.22-generic 3.5.4 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-15-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.5.2-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/snd/timer', '/dev/snd/seq'] failed with exit code 1: Date: Sun Sep 23 21:08:44 2012 PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: alsa-driver Symptom: audio Title: PCI/internal sound card not detected UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 06/22/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.bios.version: 1.70 dmi.board.asset.tag: * dmi.board.name: QFKAA dmi.board.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.board.version: 1.00 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: * dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.chassis.version: * dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnTOSHIBA:bvr1.70:bd06/22/2012:svnTOSHIBA:pnSatelliteP855:pvrPSPKAU-00F009:rvnTOSHIBA:rnQFKAA:rvr1.00:cvnTOSHIBA:ct10:cvr*: dmi.product.name: Satellite P855 dmi.product.version: PSPKAU-00F009 dmi.sys.vendor: TOSHIBA modified.conffile..etc.modprobe.d.alsa.base.conf: [modified] mtime.conffile..etc.modprobe.d.alsa.base.conf: 2012-09-23T20:51:29.873787 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1055238/+subscriptions -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1055238 Title: PCI/internal sound card not detected on Toshiba P855-S5200 Laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1055238/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
