This bug was fixed in the package qemu - 1.4.0+dfsg-1expubuntu4

---
qemu (1.4.0+dfsg-1expubuntu4) raring; urgency=low

  * re-add qemu-system-x86.modprobe to set nesting=1 (LP: #1155177)
  * qemu-system-x86.qemu-kvm.upstart:
- remove NESTED workarounds from upstart file.
- remove loading of modules which is now always done
- remove TAPR define which is no longer used
  * move customizable defines back to qemu-kvm.default
  * copy creation of group kvm to preinst - the group must exist when the
kvm udev rule is installed (LP: #1103022) (LP: #1092715)
  * add adduser to qemu-system-common Pre-Depends for use by preinst.

[Bug 1154972] Re: after update-initramfs -u the system boot to busybox shell

2013-03-15 Thread mdalacu
I think the problem is bigger because i have downloaded the latest dayly build
and booted off the cd. The installer and also Try Ubuntu don't see any of my
hdds. No devices under /dev/sd*, only the CD Drive.
With kernel 3.5.0.26 i have no such problems!
The MB it is an Asrock 890FX Deluxe 4, AMD 890FX chipset.

[Bug 1155764] [NEW] Lucid cannot upgrade to Precise if ibus-hangul is installed

2013-03-15 Thread Jonathan Reed
Public bug reported:

I think this is _related to_, but not necessarily the same as #1010131.

Lucid (10.04.4, fully up to date) cannot upgrade to Precise if the ibus-
hangul package is installed.

Steps to reproduce:
- Install 10.04.4 from an ISO (in this case ubuntu-10.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso).
- Install ibus-hangul
- Run do-release-upgrade and observe that it fails with the error:
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be
caused by held packages.

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 1155600] Re: displays wrong version number

2013-03-15 Thread Bryan Fullerton
Thanks for taking the time to report this issue and make Ubuntu better.

Confirmed. This needs an upstream sync, Debian Sid has a fix for this
issue on a later pre-0.9.26 version, and Debian Experimental has the
final 0.9.26 release.

I'm unsure if this should be backported for Quantal, but it'd be nice if
the full release was in Raring.

one can try readlink and fall back to the thing that breaks under unusual

But for ubuntu/debian we don't even need to care, we have readlink in coreutils.

[Bug 1155319] Re: Upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10

2013-03-15 Thread StevenD811
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this
bug as a bug in ubuntu-release-upgrader.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

In addition, could you please add the log files from '/var/log/dist-
upgrade/' to this bug report as separate attachments? Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1114259] Re: Opening files on an MTP device doesn't work

2013-03-15 Thread hefeweiz3n
I just fixed this in current git. Very stupid mistake this one :(.

Fix can be backported since no strings are involved. I'll try to upload
a *.patch tonight. Even better would be to get the current version
included, but seems unlikely as raring is in feature freeze.

2013-03-15 Thread Steve Langasek
reviewing bug #1092936 and the diff for this change, they don't appear
to be related; the SRU version just happens to be the verison that bug
#1092936 was reported against, there's not a causal relationship here.

Re: [Bug 1155388] Re: Network connects and disconnects rapidly, both wired and wifi

2013-03-15 Thread Charles Ford
Okay, I'll try that. Thanks. I'll report if it helps or not.
I haven't been able to disable it yet. Upon boot now it says the system
network services are not compatible with this version.

Disabling IPv6 worked for me, but it also works if you just tell Network
Manager to not require IPv6 to complete for the connection to stay up.
For some reason Network Manager is segfaulting when these steps are not
taken. Oddly enough, it worked out of the box on my netbook. I cannot
re-create the problem on my netbook, it works just fine when I have that
box checked and IPv6 set to Automatic.

[Bug 1155770] [NEW] terminator issues with global menu bar

2013-03-15 Thread Adam Gandelman
Public bug reported:

(Apologies for incorrect desktop environment terminology)

Just upgraded to 13.04 on my laptop. terminator seems to be having
issues with the global menu bar. That is, the terminator windows title
bar ends up being managed in the global menu bar, and leaves me no way
of dragging a terminator window around. Screen shot attached. The
expectation is that the terminator window has its own window title bar
with the close/minimize/maximize icons and the ability to drag the
window around. if i hit super-s, I am able to drag the window around
like any other, but no way of doing that during normal usage.

[Bug 1114259] Re: Opening files on an MTP device doesn't work

Applying https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/base/kio-
mtp/repository/revisions/1350841237002357ab5b7bc1ffb9ca139a85dfd2 should
do the trick, however the line numbers may differ greatly. As there have
been lots of other changes that affect stability greatly a complete
reimport would really be beneficial. :D

[Bug 1096488] Re: git commit NetworkManager/ also includes .etckeeper file

2013-03-15 Thread Bryan Fullerton
Thanks for taking the time to report this issue and make Ubuntu better.

This definitely seems like something related to etckeeper first, so I'm
moving it there.

Based on the documentation [1] it looks like once you've setup etckeeper
you should only be using etckeeper itself to commit changes, and use
bare vcs commands (git, bzr, etc) only for reviewing changes. So I'm
going to mark this as invalid.

[Bug 1099123] Re: ARM install stalls on keyboard detection

2013-03-15 Thread Carla Sella
Today with image:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20130315/raring-desktop-armhf+omap4.img
After having my keyboard detected correctly and having clicked on the continue
button, I go to the Personal information window and I could not enter any
personal data there, I could not enter anything in any field.
The keyboard was working thoug as I could get to terminal with CTRL+ALT+F1 and
type something there.
But when I got back to the personal information window by pressing CTRL+ALT+F7
I could not do anything.

The card won't work on other boards since it's just a riser card, part
of the hardware stuff is located on the mobo while the sound chip is on
the riser card. It's exclusive to some Asus x48 Maximus/Rampage boards
with the *dedicated* black PCIe x1 slot for Supreme FXII Card. It will
never work on the regular white slot on any other board.

The linux sound stuff/stack can't apparently recognize whether the setup is a
5.1 or 7.1, on Windows the Asus SoundMAX AudioESP sound software automatically
reconfigures the sound settings depending on what has been plugged. Whenever
connector is inserted/removed it will prompt to select another configuration.

http://lh3.ggpht.com/renjusgallery/Ryt9PP8zTJI/Aec/RcQ17Q-_K_Y/s800/soundmax%5B5%5D.jpg

My problem is that Linux thinks that I'm using 7.1 and outputs sound in
via 4 speakers while ignoring the subwoofer, it ironically shows the 5.1
config enabled in sound settings but I have to constantly switch from
5.17.15.1 to get the subwoofer working every time something is being
played(And it doesn't always work). Let's say I play an MP3, the default
setup is 5.1 and I have to mess up with the settings to get it working
but whenever the App playing the content is closed Ubuntu forgets the
subwoofer so I have to do this every single time. The sound quality is
also terrible, it's way too quiet and the bass level is abnormally too
distorted compared to what SoundMAX on Windows.

There's a sound switch that needs to be done but Ubuntu can't apparently
do that.

[Bug 1153224] Re: [FFE] Move to logind for session tracking

2013-03-15 Thread Martin Pitt
Any thoughts on whether we should go logind for raring or not? I wonder
how much energy I should put into maintaining the logind PPA, and
playing catch-up with normal raring uploads. If we postpone that to
raring+1, then this is rather pointless.

Also, if we don't do logind, but want the D-BUS services, we need to
either drop the logind upstart job or split out logind again (I merged
that into systemd-services as Debian didn't like the over-splitting), as
the FFE for timezoned and friends is approved already.

[Bug 1155775] [NEW] screen resolution locked at 1024x768

2013-03-15 Thread Lieven
Public bug reported:

Release: Lubuntu 13.04 daily build march 12, 2013

Screen resolution is not detected properly at boot.
xrandr -q shows only one resolution (1024x768), which means I can't change the
resolution once the system is up and running.
I'll attach the files Xorg.0.log (xorg.txt) and the output of lspci -vvnn
(lspci.txt)
